Time to Get Sketchie with the Crazies

The Crazy4Challenges DT played with their monthly sketch challenge this week.  Kelli created quite a unique sketch for us this week.  I went western with my theme this week.  The sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp (I think), while the image is from Mark's Finest Papers.  I used an MFT star border along with Spellbinder star dies.  Piercing and brads were the finishing touches.

TS Monday goes Stars and Stripes

For Totally Stampalicious' Monday Challenge, in honor of today being Independence Day here in the U.S., we are using stars and stripes.  I may have gone a little overboard, but I had fun!!!  I used the image from Cowgirl Dottie and the sentiment from Cupcake JJ.  I also played with my Spellbinder's star dies.

Born Free

This card was made for three challenges.  Most importantly for the Tuesday Teaparty Challenge, this card will be heading off to hopefully cheer up the daughter of Cathy (Mutnik), a fellow Tea Partier.  Her daughter was thrown from a horse and is undergoing some pretty serious and intense treatment for her injuries.  It is also being done for the CAS Challenge on SCS which was a sketch, and for the Technique Challenge on SCS of using patchwork (with leftovers).  This piece of cardboard has been sitting on the stampcave table, waiting to be useful......and today was that day.  I added the rose to bring some femininity to the western/horse theme.

The B's and CCEE's Are Challenging Again!!!!

I have a feeling that when you go to look at the rest of the Stampin B's cards, I will be the odd woman out.  Our challenge this week was to make a collage card.  I know, I know....this is not the typical collage card.  I really do try to mix stamped images into a stamped collage card, but I just am never pleased with the results.  So.....since the B's have 'no rulz', I went with another type of collage......the type where you bring different forms of elements together in one creation.  I honestly LOVE this card......so......I guess that is the most important thing, right?????

This is my fav ever image from Innovative Stamp Creations.  The sentiment is by another company but I forgot to write it down when I came up from the stampcave.  If you need to know, just ask in your comment.

Our CCEE Stampers Challenge team was asked to make western themed birthday cards.  Well, I just had to once again use the newly release Cowgirl Dottie from Totally Stampalicious.  She is so sassy.   The sentiment is an unmounted I bought at a stamp convention long ago and is not marked.  I used some stretch cording and a swirl brad, along with a MS deep border punch, SU oval punch, Sizzix embossing folder, and some rhinestones.

Speedy's and the Crazies....It Must Be Saturday!!!

The Crazy4Challenges has a sponsor this week.....a  fabulous company with a great sense of humor, which is a good thing, as our challenge this week is to have humor involved on your card.  I used the newly released set, Cowgirl Dottie, from Totally Stamapalicious.  She is a rootin' tootin' western brawd with some real sass!!!  AND.....I actually succeeded at cutting her out....my peepers are being nice to me at the moment....lol!!!!

For the Speedy's Friends Challenge this week, we were to make a card/project that was tone on tone.  I used my Bearded Iris set from Mark's Finest Papers to create my card.  I used an MS punch for my border and added some rhinestones.  AND......tah dah........I, cutwork challenged as I am....I actually cut out this iris and was happy about the results.  Always nice when something is a success which is usually a failure.

CCEE1034 and Stampin' B's #73 Challenges

Well....it had to happen sometime.  I am pleased to say that this week you get two separate cards for these challenges. 

Stampin B's Challenge -- Western Square Card

When I was creating this, this was my one and only western image stamp.  After making it, I realized I do have some cacti stamps I could have used AND a set from MFP arrived which is a western themed set.  So I am all set for the next western challenge....lol!!!!  This is an unmounted stamp I bought ages ago....if anyone happens to know the company, please put it in a comment so I can identify it next time.

CCEE Challenge -- Sketch
Hostess -- Tosh

This week, Tosh gave us another fab sketch AND once again I tweaked it a bit.  I used all the same color for my elements to the left of the card.  Sorry, Tosh!!!  It just wouldn't work for me the other way......lol!!!!

I used these snowflakes from an old set by SeeD's.  I learned a good lesson making this card.......don't dry emboss with your CB AFTER you have heat embossed....it causes some of the embossing to flake off!!!  However, I decided it just made the snowflakes a little more flakey.....and that's okay in my book!!!!  (Once again I forgot to write down the name of the company for the sentiment......just slips my mind every time....sorry!!!)
