The CCEE Stampers Are Star Gazing

Frances continues as the host for the CCEE Stampers this week.  This is her challenge.......

The 28th  of April was National Astronomy Day.  For our challenge this week please create a card/project which includes stars in some way.

I used a wonderful die set for both the star and the snowflake.  (If you want to know the company, leave a comment and I'll get back to you.  I am two flights of stairs away from the dies right now.)  The sentiment is from an old retired SU set.  I love how this one came out, so I will be making a set of these for my holiday stash for 2015.

Sketch for the Crazies

It is the third challenge of the month, so our February Crazy4Challenges hostess, Kelli, has given us a fab sketch to play with.

I went very clean and simple with the sketch, using embossing in place of the two horizontal panels, and leaving off two small elements of the design.  I have unfortunately needed several sympathy cards lately, so I prefer them to be less 'busy' than other cards.  My image is by Penny Black and my sentiment is from Hero Arts.

CCEE Plays Tic-Tac-Toe

 

For this first week of December, the CCEE Stampers have been given a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge by our hostess, Lynn.

 We were to choose any row we would like across, down, or diagonally in the board above and were to include those three things on a holiday card. You could add more items, if you wish, but you must use the three in the row you have chosen!

I went with the middle vertical row of snow, embossing, and glitter......except I substituted bling for glitter.  I DO NOT USE GLITTER.  I have enough troubles with my weak peepers without having little bits of shiny things making them worse.

I used a new 'frame' die cut from Simon Says Stamp.  The only issue I had was that the tiny pieces of the R and theA disappeared in the scraps and I had to find them and carefully place them where they belonged.  I think in the future I am going to make it easy on myself and leave the areas blank.  Everyone will know what it says without that fine detail work.

Other than than, this was an easy-peasy card.  I back the die with first designer paper and then plain red cardstock.  Place all of that on a snowflake embossed base card.

One Layer Only with the CCEE

Well, Lois, our CCEE Stampers hostess for September, has become quite an accomplished CAS card creator, so I was not surprised with this week's challenge........to make a one layer card.  I actually knew right away what I was going to do.......design a one layer card for my holiday stash which I can produce quickly and in multiples.  I used this fabulous snowflake stampf from Hero Arts, heat embossed in white on the red base card.  I added a wintery sentiment and a few black pearls.  AND....must say that I just love it!!!!

Strictly Single......Layer, that is!!!

Wow....Barbara is finishing the month with a TOUGH challenge....at least, a really tough one for me!!!  She challenge the Crazy4Challenges DT to make a single layer card......ONE LAYER PERIOD.  Only the base card.......no other layer of any type.  Phew....this kind of challenge makes me sweat!!!  But......that is why I love these challenge teams....it makes me do things I would never have done without a big nudge.

AND......surprise, surprise,.....I  just LOVE this card......I used a bold bloom from SU.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder onto my red base card.  I then heat embossed the sentiment (not sure of company...ask in a comment if you really want to know).  I then took a black flair and a ruler and drew the lines around the edges.....and it was done.......I love the drama and crispness..........and yet it is a truly one layer CAS card.  Thanks for the nudge, Barb!!!

It's Thursday....Time for Some Challenges

I have a lot to share today, so I will keep it short.....

This is my card for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Cindy challenged us to make a card with a butterfly.  The sentiment on this card is from Mark's Finest Papers.  The die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.

The Stampin B's Challenge, hostessed by 'moi', is to make a monochromatic card with blues along with neutral colors AND paper piecing.  For this card I used a set and die from My Favorite Things.

This was done for the Totally Stampalcious Monday Challenge which was to make a card with at least 3 hearts on it......somehow I think I reached that goal...lol......!!!!  For my card I used the set called Stupid Cupid.

Double Challenge -- Good Friends

Quick post today.  This card was done for the Tea Party Challenge which was to make a card with mostly white....with a dash of color.  It was also done for the color challenge on SCS.

I also did a personal challenge which was to try one of these dimensional flowers.  Gotta say I LOVE it, but would never be able to mail this card as it would never fit in an envelope.
