Alzheimer's Heart to Heart Card Drive
I was so very excited when Cammie asked me to be apart of her blog candy giveaway. This is not the greatest picture, but this is a set of cards I donated to the blog candy 'pile'. I used a Verve flower stamp set to create them, a Labels die, a Marvy corner punch, and my piercing tools. I kept it embellishment free as not everyone wants to use extra postage every time they send a card. You can click on these pictures to see them larger.
You can read about Cammie's efforts HERE. Now....get busy and get over to Cam's blog to get all the details about the Heart to Heart Alzheimers' Card Drive and Blog Candy!!! Support the caregivers of Alzheimer's patients.
A special note to Cammie/Carolyn.....YOU ROCK!!!!

Innovative Stamp Creations New Release -- Day 3
Mini Ledger
This line is ideal for Artist Trading Cards or when you need a quick Mini-Card! You can even accent the pages on a small Mini Book too! The tab image is super easy to use as you’ll see in the sample below. You can use almost any of the phrases on the inside of the tab to accent your card, etc!
Betsy asked us to create a small set of 3 X 3 cards in our favorite color palette. Well, my very fav combo is black, RED, and white, but lately I seem to be using these colors in many combinations: pretty in pink, river rock, celery, and cool caribbean. I first stamped the mini-ledger image on the cardstock papers of choice, cut out and then matted in black to make them 'pop'. I finished them off by stamping a small script stamp on the right side of the ledger, an image also included in the set. I had intended for them to go on the card straight up and down, but the minute I put the image askew, well, I knew that was how they would stay. I then pierced a bit, diagonally on the sides of the ledger panels. I stamped the tab stamp in my colors of choice and then stamped the sentiment inside each. I cut out and attached them with two brads. I knew that I wanted to use these Prima roses which had been 'burning a hole' on my worktable. I then went to my Beautiful Butterflies III set and stamped the smaller butterfly on white cardstock. Colored them with my Copics, and then popped the wings up with pop dots for a 3-D effect. AND.....that is my story!!!

Gift Set -- Earthy P'Willows
Well....this was a gift set that just kind of happened. I had taken this stamp out to do yesterday's Featured Stamper challenge on SCS, and decided to play around a bit with it. When I make gift sets now I usually do two of each card because I package them in acrylic boxes and can place one of each type on each side for the recipient to easily see what is inside without taking them out. Some dear friends really do look forward to receiving these sets. AND....I tell them to USE them. Some feel they should use them sparingly. I tell them to USE them as I am sure I will be making more and gifting more.....lol!!!
Well.....today I am off for a Christmas lunch with a very dear friend. I first met her due to our great interest in Japan, and was lucky enough to travel with her and 14 other New England educators to Japan years ago. It was the trip of a lifetime, and we have stayed in close touch since then. She is a recent survivor of breast cancer, having completed both chemo and radiation treatments. She is a totally positive and inspiring person and I consider myself blessed to have her in my "family of friends." She is a wonderful knitter and has a project she is working on for me, so I may have my first view of her 'project'. If so, I may be able to share tomorrow. After all our snow over the weekend, I am hoping the next storm takes a turn away from our area. We have much too much snow on the ground.....nearly two feet of snow.
Wishing you a wonderful day. Stay safe and warm.

Stampin' B's Challenge #23 Box & Cards

For the Stampin B's Challenge this week, Nicole (ButterflyEars) wanted us to make 3 X 3 cards with a box. Now this sounded like a breeze to me......BIG ERROR....LOL!!! The box seemed to throw me for a loop. It was not the making of the box....that was simple.....it was the decorating of the box to go with the cards.......but I finally overcame my shortcomings and completed a set. However, I must honestly say that I made mine 4 X 4 as I wanted to make them in a size I would use. (That is the practical side of me!!!)
The image I used is by Penny Black which I colored with Copics. I used designer paper, my fav corner punch, and some brads, as well as CB'ing the background. I kept the design fairly simple but I think it is still fun!!!
Now be sure to visit the Stampin' B's Blog so you can check out the fabulous creations of the rest of the team AND to check out how you can play right along with us.

TSG Sneak Peak -- BLOOM

So....can you tell that I am ABSOLUTELY in LOVE with this new set......each bloom in this set is more beautiful that the other.......they are all drop dead gorgeous......and I am in heaven!!!!! Of course, I am a sucker for florals.......but these are truly drop dead gorgeous and so versatile. I just had to make more than one card for the sneak peek. I made two of each to make a gift set for someone (although I must say it will be hard to part with these...they really make me smile!!)There She Goes is holding a blog hop in connection with these sneak peeks. If you are already on the hop, you will now go to Jody's blog....a great place to visit ANY day, but especially for TSG samples. She is one FABulous stamper!!! If this was your first stop, you might want to go to Jessica's (the owner's) blog to get started at the beginning. There you will also find all the other things happening with this release party.
I have also listed below all of the Trendsetter's blogs, just in case you got lost along the way and need to go to a particular one to finish up. Remember, to be eligible to win the set of the day, you must visit each blog and leave a comment. Then you must go to Jessica's blog and fill out the Mister Linky info there. After doing that, you will have a chance to win the set being released that day.

You might also want to participate in the Release Challenge. Not only will you get to challenge yourself by trying something different but the winner will get their choice of one of the new stamp sets :) This month the challenge is all about shapes. Card shapes that is! We want you to think outside the traditional card sizes of 4.5"x5.5" & 4.25"x4.25" and create a card using a different size and/or shape. Some ways to achieve this is by using Nestabilities for the card base or checking out the resource section on SplitCoastStampers . When you have completed your TSG Shape Card, go to Jessica's (the owner) blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the TSG July Release Challenge Blog post. If uploading your card to SCS, please use the keyword TSG11. The challenge is open from Thursday-Sunday. Winner will be chosen on Sunday and announced on Jessica's blog.
