CCEEers Go a Little 'Ducky'

Vicky, as our June CCEE Stamper Challenge hostess, is back with another challenge.  Here it is......

Morning ya'll.  Vicky here to challenge you!!!

Today is Donald Duck Day!!!  Donald has been around since 1934.

Let's celebrate Donald by using a duck..real or imaginary.  Extra points if you use Donald or any other fictional duck on your card.  Let's see what you come up with.

The duck stamp that came to mind when I saw this challenge are from Verve.  I have had the set for ages but have only used it once.  I like the idea that I have lots of ducks represented AND that it is a 'ducky' sentiment.  I used Spellbinder dies, Copics, and piercing tools.

Now be sure to check out the CCEE Stampers Blog to see the other 'ducky' creations.

CCEEers Go Plaid for the Guys

Anne is our April hostess for the CCEE Challenge.  Here is her challenge for this week.....

Create a masculine card using plaid in some way.

I used a Sweet 'N Sassy image along with a sassy sentiment stamp.  The plaid was created with a JustRite Designs background stamp.  I added some triple piercing on the sidesk.

Crazy for Petite Critters

Hello and welcome to the first week of April with Crazy 4 Challenges! Rebecca Ednie will be our hostess for this month. We'd like to thank everyone who played with us last week. Without you all, this challenge wouldn't exist!

We have the lovely, sweet and talented Teresa Kline from Paperie Blooms joining us and she will be our Guest for the whole Month. Please welcome her by leaving a comment at the Crazies Blog or at her blog.

Here is Rebecca's challenge for us this week......

This week I've designed a challenge with Spring in mind. I hate winter and am so happy spring is finally here. Spring brings Baby Animals so use some little critters on your card or project. They can be baby animals or just small images.

When I think of small critters, I often think of this SU retired set that I used this week.  I have to be honest and say that I originally wanted a different sentiment.....something including 'one of a kind', but I was unable to find the stamp I normally used.....so......I used the one that comes with this stamp set from SU>

I added some embossing to 'fill in' some white space.  Scoring was also done, but it really doesn't show much in this muddy picture.  Piercing was also an added detail as well as some MS border punching.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the critters represented on the DT cards.

CCEE Stampers Get Punch Happy

Welcome to week two of our CCEE Stamper February challenges with our hostess, Lynn.  She has challenged us to have a little Valentine fun.  Here is her challenge......

Back when I was in grade school, every Valentine’s Day my classmates and I had such fun creating Valentine Critters to decorate our Valentine boxes. The task for today is to create an animal of any kind on your card in which you use heart shapes for some of its body parts.

A while ago I had started saving punch art ideas on a Pinterest Board.  It came in handy with this challenge.  I adapted one of the collected pins to make my dog.  Hearts were used for the hind legs and nose.  Ovals were used for the head, body, snout, and ears.  I'm not sure the name for the leg punch but it is a long, slim, rounded rectangle which I bent to make paws.  I also sponged with white near some of the edges. Circle punches were used for the eyes.  I drew in the 'freckles; and mouth and added a touch of shine to the nose.  The sentiment is from a Sweet 'n Sassy dog stamp set.

Now be sure to check out the fab punched creations by the rest of the team......I can't wait to see them at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Going UNDER with the Crazies

Welcome to another Crazy4Challenges challenge. Can you believe that one month of 2016 has almost gone already ... Wow!

Before we get onto this week's challenge we would like to thank Caz Counsell for being our Guest Designer for January,  We have loved having her play with us this month.

Frances is back with our final challenge of the month.

The 26th January was Australia Day, as I live in the "land down under", lets celebrate with a Down Under Challenge. Create a card with something down under, it could be under the sea, or a tree or underground, under an umbrella or even from down under in the world.

I used a virgin stamp set from Penny Black for both the image and the sentiment.  This is a one layer card....truly CAS.  I have been trying to work with this genre and I find it very challenging.  I am putting together a gift stash for a friend and CAS cards are the best for that gift stash.

Now be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the other 'under' creations by the rest of this team.

Crazy4Challenges Sketch Week

Frances, our January hostess for the Crazy4Challenges, has given us a great sketch to play with this week.

I used Tim Holtz's Crazy Birds set for this one.  I honestly can't remember the company for the sentiment, but I 'think' it is Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.  I added lots of piercing around the base and the main image.  I used an old SU punch for my sentiment panels on which the sentiment was heat embossed.

Be sure to stop in at the Crazies Blog to see the many fabulous ways this sketch has been used.

CCEE Stampers Play with Words

Lois continues as the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for September.  She has a fun challenge for us his week that has a lot of flexibility to it.  The gallery should be full of all kinds of creations this week.  Here is her challenge....

Lois here.  I'm the hostess for this month's CCEE challenges.  In addition to being my birthday today, it is also the birthday of Louis H. Sullivan (born Sept. 3, 1856), an architect credited with designing the first skyscraper.  Today's challenge is a Word Play challenge.  Include on your card something that starts with each of the letters in CITY.

Here are my CITY elements.....

C is for the Crazy Bird image I used.
I is for the "I' sentiment.
T is for the turquoise color of my cardstock and Copic markers.
Y is for the abundance of yellow on the card.

Stamps used are from Tim Holtz (Crazy Bird) , SU (bkgd. stamp used on horizontal panel), and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps (sentiment).

Be sure to visit the CCEE Stampers Blog to see creativity on overload.

Belated B'days with the Crazies

Our Crazy4Challenges goal this week was to add a belated b'day card to our card stash.  Even though most of us have lots and lots and lots of cards, we still somehow forget to mail them on time.  So this challenge will help us make our friends think more kindly of us.....when we forget their b'days.....we hope!!!!!

I used a very cute mini set from Taylored Expressions.  Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the belated wishes of this fabulous (but sometimes late) design team.

Number Yourself with the CCEE

Frances, the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for May, has given us a fabulous challenge this week.  She asked us to use NUMBERS on our cards/projects.

I immediately went to my embossing folders as I knew I had one with numbers.  Do you think I could find it????  NO!!!!  Amazingly, my folders ARE somewhat organized, but this one was not in any category I checked.  So.......had to head in a new direction..........went to look for numbers in my designer papers and I found the one I used on the lower section of my card.  From there, my card evolved quickly.  I had bought this sentiment stamp a long time ago, but this was its virgin inking.  I had just bought this Penny Black cling stamp especially to use with that sentiment.  I then added the star brads for some 'shine' and that was that.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to be mathematically inspired.......should be numbers galore in the post.

30+ Inches......Phew!!!!

I have not had much time for stamping.  NEMO, the historic blizzard, hit Connecticut with hurricane force winds, thundersnow, and snow falling sometimes at a rate of 5-6 inches an hour.  During and after the storm, my shovel was permanently attached to my hand/arm.  If I wasn't helping with the driveway, I was shoveling snow off the bushes or shoveling out a 'toilet area' for our dogs.  We went out 3 times Friday night and several times on Saturday before we got it all done.  We had a total of 30 - 36 or so inches.......hard to tell as the wind was blowing it all around.  In the dogs' toilet area, I shoveled at least 50 inches (or more) as drifting snow would fill it in quickly.  Incredible!!!!  One very positive thing for us was that even though our lights blinked, we never lost power.  Sadly, this morning it was 0 degrees, and there were thousands who still did not have power.  Let's hope that ends for them very soon......I can't even imagine no heat in this weather!!!

I do not have pictures to share as I was too busy shoveling.  When I did think about pictures, the sun was already setting.

However.....today I am sharing some cards I made in recent weeks for challenges at SCS.  I am not going to give details.......just sharing the cards....if you have questions, just ask in your comment.
