Silke Kittman is our hostess this week for the
Crazy4Challenges. She asked us to use a color combo this week:
brown, green, and vanilla. I haven't done a scenic card for a while, so I went with this woodsy scene which was perfect for the color combo. I believe the image is by Stampscape, but if you absolutely must know, just ask and I'll check the next time I head down to the stamp cave. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. I really should try to get more masculine birthday cards made.....I always seem to need one in a hurry!!!
This sketch was one I missed on SCS from a last week or the week before. I know I will be using that again. Thanks to Rox and Dawn for this sketch challenge.
Can't wait to see what the rest of the
Crazies do with this color combo......so, like you, I will be going to the
Crazies' Blog to check out this week's creations.
As many of you know, I am not naturally a technique junkie........and that is the great thing about challenges....they make us work out of our comfort zone (often)!!!
Harriet was our hostess for the
Speedy's Friends Challenge this week, and she asked us to use
resist emboss. Well, I attempted it........somehow I wish I had gotten a stronger contrast, but that is the fault of the creator, not the technique. In real life there is a bit more contrast in the main panel. The image and sentiment are from a set soon to be released by
Mark's Finest Papers called
In My Mother's Garden. I dry embossed the bkgd. added some piercing and gems, and some sweet Prima flowers.
Be sure to visit the
Speedy's Friends post to see the fab emboss resist creations of the rest of this fabbo team.
On Thursday, I made this card which was entered into three challenges. I used the sketch from the SCS Sketch Challenge, the colors of the Stampin B's Challenge along with gingham (a small plaid IMHO), and Ii got out my decorative scissors for the Way To Use It Challenge on SCS.
.......on a personal note......
(Pepper in the front, our almost 8 year old Cairn terrier. Angel in the back, our 4.5 month old rescue pup.)
Angel is fully recovered from her surgeries. Her stitches have been removed, her incision healed, and the cone is GONE!!!! She is 'running like the wind' outside and aggravating her 'brother'. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. All is well with the 'babes'!!!!
