CCEE Chicks Get Creative

Frances continues as the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for March.  Here is her challenge for us this week.

Saturday is Poultry Day. So let's be inspired by Poultry when creating our cards this week… Chickens; Ducks; Turkeys; Geese; Emus; Ostriches etc or Eggs. As Easter is just over a week away, you could create an Easter card but this is optional. Bonus points if you  include Green on your card to celebrate St Patricks Day which is today.

I used a stamp and die set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps for my image.  The frame was made with a die from MFT.  The sentiment is also from an MFT set.  I added a touch of designer paper and some brads.  Piercing finished the card off.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the other poultry themed cards by this wonderful DT.

Going 3D with the Crazies

The Crazy4Challenges DT was asked to go 3D this week.  I have been having some fun with my flower dies lately and decided to go with 3D flowers.

Please note that my sentiment panel in real life is crisp white.....not sure why it looks yellowed here.

Be sure to check out the Crazies Blog to see all the spectacular 3D project by the rest of this DT.

Going Red, White, and Blue with the Crazies

Frances is our hostess with the mostest for July.  This first week she gave the Crazy4Challenges DT  the color combo of red, white and blue.  You did not have to make a patriotic card...just use the color combo.  I have been gathering a stash of cards for a dear friend, so I went non-patriotic.

I apologize for my somewhat fuzzy picture.  It was just one of those days when the camera would not cooperate.  The sketch I used is one I saw a few years ago.....unfortunately I did not write down the name of the stamper.  If you recognize the sketch, thanks for the inspiration.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see our red, white and blue gallery of creations.

The CCEE'ers Chalk It Up

Frances, our CCEE Stampers hostess for May, asked us to 'chalk it up' this week -- that is, use the chalkboard technique.

I only used two stamps this week, a sentiment and the white embossed frame around it.

Be aure to stop by the CCEE Stampers Blog to see the fab creations by the rest of the team using the chalkboard technique.

Signs of Spring with the CCEE

Kathy, our CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for June, had April showers on her mind this week.  She asked us to think about what April showers mean to us......flowers?  weeds?  mowing?  sun?  warmer temps??  Let your mind think and then create.

I went with the flowers.  I used this stamp for the first time a couple weeks ago, but only used it as a line image.  I wanted to see what it would look like colored.  Makes a nice CAS card, eh????

Be sure to stop in at the CCEE Blog to see the fab creations by the rest of this fantastic team.

Time to Get Sketchie with the Crazies

The Crazy4Challenges DT played with their monthly sketch challenge this week.  Kelli created quite a unique sketch for us this week.  I went western with my theme this week.  The sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp (I think), while the image is from Mark's Finest Papers.  I used an MFT star border along with Spellbinder star dies.  Piercing and brads were the finishing touches.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see the original sketch along with the variety of creations the DT made using the sketch with such differing results.

Happy Birthday, Vicky!!!!

Happy 70th  Birthday, Vicky Gould!!!!

Vicky is our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenges this month.  Today happens to be her 70th birthday.  Vicky happens to LOVE chocolate.   For this last February challenge, she has challenged us to use chocolate in some way.....in image, sentiment, color, cocoa, chocolate chips, etc......on our cards.

I went with a chocolate sentiment and both cocoa and chocolate colored cardstock.  The only stamping was my sentiment which is an unmounted, unidentified stamp.

I sincerely hope that this is Vicky's best birthday ever!!  Though we have never met face to face, I consider her a very dear friend.  We have been longtime friends on Splitcoast, and her friendship has blessed me in many way throughout the years.  Enjoy your day, my friend!!!

Try to take time to go to the CCEE Stampers' Blog to see all the wonderful chocolate creations, and make a special effort to visit Vicky's blog to wish her the happiest of birthdays.

CCEE'ers Play with Mosaics

Vicky is the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for February.   For her first challenge of the month, she wanted us to create a paper mosaic of some type.  I used small squares of polka dotted dp to create my vertical panel behind the PI image.  Both the PI image and the sentiment are from My Favorite Things.  I paper pieced the PI's bathrobe.

Be sure to go to the CCEE Blog to see the variety of mosaics created by my fellow DT members.  I am sure you will be inspired.  Directions will also be there for how you can play right along with us.

The Crazies Play with a Color Combo

Kristine, our hostess for the February Crazy4Challenges, has started the month with a color challenge.  Her challenge for everyone today is to make something with the colors of
Purple, Blue, and Green
and just for an added twist she wants to see stripes on our cards!

This month we welcome Danielle Lounds as our guest designer for February, you can visit her at Fat Cat Stampers.

I used an old floral stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and a sentiment stamp from MFT, a border punch from Martha Stewart, and some brads.  Easy-peasy.

30+ Inches......Phew!!!!

I have not had much time for stamping.  NEMO, the historic blizzard, hit Connecticut with hurricane force winds, thundersnow, and snow falling sometimes at a rate of 5-6 inches an hour.  During and after the storm, my shovel was permanently attached to my hand/arm.  If I wasn't helping with the driveway, I was shoveling snow off the bushes or shoveling out a 'toilet area' for our dogs.  We went out 3 times Friday night and several times on Saturday before we got it all done.  We had a total of 30 - 36 or so inches.......hard to tell as the wind was blowing it all around.  In the dogs' toilet area, I shoveled at least 50 inches (or more) as drifting snow would fill it in quickly.  Incredible!!!!  One very positive thing for us was that even though our lights blinked, we never lost power.  Sadly, this morning it was 0 degrees, and there were thousands who still did not have power.  Let's hope that ends for them very soon......I can't even imagine no heat in this weather!!!

I do not have pictures to share as I was too busy shoveling.  When I did think about pictures, the sun was already setting.

However.....today I am sharing some cards I made in recent weeks for challenges at SCS.  I am not going to give details.......just sharing the cards....if you have questions, just ask in your comment.

Passing TIME with the CCEE Stampers

Punch the Clock Day is coming up on the 27th, so I challenged the CCEE Stampers to celebrate this little known holiday by creating masculine cards with some connection to time or clocks.  I have a feeling that the team will have fun with this timely challenge.  Check our their creations at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

I used images from Hero Arts, Technique Tuesday, as well as a clock die from Tim Holtz.

At this time I would like to share a couple of cards I did for challenges recently.  The following one was done for the CAS and the Technique Challenges this week.

This next one was done for 4 different challenges on SCS.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Always Love a Sketch

Andrea is the Crazy4Challenges hostess this month.  This week she has challenged us to create a card using this sketch.

You will notice that I have turned the sketch, but otherwise stayed true to the sketch.  The sentiment is the only stamping done on this card.  I just love the sweetness of its words.  The 'frame' is a Memory Box die.

Now be sure to check out the creations made by the Crazies using this sketch.  I am sure you will be dazzled if you visit the Crazies' Blog.

CCEE1215 -- Wild for Embellies

Cindy is the hostess for the CCEE Stampers for the month of April.  This week she has challenged us to use three embellies.  Well, I added a die cut flower, single pearls plus pearl flourishes, and die cut ferns.  The sketch I used was an SCS Sketch Challenge I never had a chance to do.  The flower dies are from Marianne Designs, while the ferns are from (???  will have to check on that...sorry).

I LOVE embellies, so I can't wait to see what the rest of the team created this week.  If you are curious, you really need to stop by the CCEE Blog to be fascinated and inspired.

CCEE1212 -- Going Sentimental

Welcome to the CCEE Stampers' Challenge.  As hostess for the month of March, this week I asked the team to focus on the sentiment.  My mind is often 'at the beach' so that is where I went to choose a sentiment.  I added a small, dried starfish from a Fall trip to Maine as an embellishment.

I am really looking forward to vieving the sentimental creations of the rest of this fabulously talented team.  I know they will inspire me to spread my wings and use sentiments in a variety of ways.

Be sure to journey to the CCEE Stamper's Blog for inspiration.  AND....remember.....even if I may forget to tell you each week......that we would LOVE for you to play along with us.  Details on what to do are at the team blog.

As the January hostess for the Crazies, I challenged them to use lots of layers and embellies.  Go wild and crazy!!!  My card for the Crazy4Challenges was created with a stamp set and die from My Favorite Things.  I have had these items for a longgggggg time and finally got them inked up today.  I partnerred it with this fabulous designer paper and my fav chocolate ribbon.

C4C119....The Crazies are BLUE!!!

As hostess for the month of January, I challenge the Crazy4Challenge team to make a monochromatic blue card.  I have a feeling we will be seeing some cool blue masterpieces this week.  Always so fun to see the various interpretations of any challenge.

I used a sentiment by My Favorite Things as my focal point.  I then played around with my Spellbinders, Primas, paper piercing,  pearl flourishes and single pearls.  Kind of an easy-peasy card but with some class.

Be sure to go to the Crazies Blog to see the fab work of the rest of this inspirational team.
