I Can See Clearly Now......Starring the CCEE

Frances, our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenges in May, was clear in her challenge this week.  We were to pick from several possible techniques, each one making sure we used acetate on our cards.

I decided to make a white on white, CAS, wedding card.  I used two photos to be sure you could see the acetate aspect of the card which I dry embossed with a paisley embossing folder.  I also used a MS border punch and a Cherry Lynn Designs heart die cut.

This was my card from last week's Sketch Challenge on SCS.  I just love the sentiment.  The image is by Penny Black, of course!!!!  Aren't they just too cute???!!!

As most of you know I am on the Product Review Team for 2010 on SCS.  Our team recently reviewed the new large scallop dies from Spellbinders.  The card above as well as the card and gift bag below were made using the large scallop oval dies.  The image on this one is by Innovative Stamp Creations.  I also used some of my other oval Nesties to create the frame around the main image as well as a corner punch.

Another from Product Review, and once again, the image is by Penny Black.  I am pretty sure the sentiment comes from a Gina K set.

This is the gift bag made for the Product Review, using the large scallop die as the topper on the bag.  I used an SCS tutorial called 2-5-7-10 box to create the basic packaging, and then I tweaked it a bit to fit the scallop topper.  The stamp used on the 'body' of the package is by Innovative Stamp Creations.

I am sure I have a few other 'unpublished' cards to share, but these are the ones I thought of today.  Thanks for taking the time to take a 'gander'........and a double thanks if you take the time to comment.

Getting Sketchie

Rox surprised us with another fabulous sketch this week on SCS.  I was a bit skeptical when I saw it, but WOW do I ever love it now!!!  I ended up making two cards with the sketch.  The first one pictured above was made with a SU set.  I love the drama of the red, white, and black.....which will be no surprise to those who know of my love for this color combo.

In the picture below, you will see that I reversed the sketch, due to the direction of the images.  These images come from the set called Spring & Easter 2010 from Mark's Finest Papers.

So...today was a day of great sketches AND my return to the pool.  I had an eye procedure almost two weeks ago and I was finally cleared to go swimming.  Of course, first I had to clear the car of 4 or so inches of snow from our last snow storm........which made it quite interesting.......!!!

Stampin B's Challenge #35 - Acetate Window

Well, Nicole surely challenged us this week -- we had to do make a card with a clear acetate window. I must say that this card LOOKS simple enough, but to get that window done correctly (or almost correctly...lol!) required a degree in engineering.....at least for me it did!!! I used my Nesties to cut out the various layers of the 'frame' for the window, with many errors ending up in the garbage. Oh well, in the end I am very happy with the results. Not must stamping done on this one, but I know that the recipient of this thank you card will appreciate the efforts.....and, after all, that is why we do what we do!!!
