Chevrons Inspire the Crazies

Silke is our Crazy4Challenges hostess this month.  This week she has challenged the Crazies to use Chevron dies, designer paper, or stamps along with the colors of gray, green, and pink from the inspiration photo above.

Now....when you look at this card you will think I have cheated, since you will see that I used black....however....if you look in the upper right corner, you will see that I used silver pearls....thus meeting the gray requirement.....lol!!!

Winging It This Week with the CCEE'ers

Vicky is our hostess for the month of August.  This week she challenged the CCEE Stampers team to create cards with angels.  Well, I do not have any angel stamps, so I decided that instead of using clip art I would use a winged image......actually a butterfly fairy.  I used white embossing powder on the lilac paper, added the sentiment, a bordered panel, ribbon and bow, and some black pearls.  Not a complicated card, but I do think the design pops.

Well, apologies go out to my CCEE Stamper friends......I was out and about early this morn, gone all day, and came home to realize my post never published.  So here it is........

This week we were challenged to create cards/projects with 'things with wings'.  It could be real or imaginary.  I went with this sweet Penny Black image.....to get another card for my holiday stash.  In real life the color of her skirt matches the blush blossom of the card base......here they don't appear to match.

CCEE1309 The Flight of the Fairies

Today is National Tooth Fairy Day, so Frances, our CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess, challenged us to make a card/project with a fairy on it.  I kept it CAS this week,  I used this wonderful silhouette image of a fairy and paired it with its accompanying sentiment.

'Winging it' with Totally Stampalicious

Today's Totally Stampalcious Monday Challenge is to 'have wings'.  I used the newly released Fairy Ava set to create my card.  I also used a border punch from MS, my Nesties, and some ribbon from Really ReasonableRribbon.  I colored with my Copics and did some paper piercing as well.

This is a card I made for last week's Sketch Challenge on SCS using a Mark's Finest Papers set called Butterflies and Wisteria.

This is a card I made for the Free4All Challenge on SCS which was to use a frame.  I used a Totally Stampalicious set called Friendly Dexter for this one.

Recently, when I brought my mother up to New York to meet my brother halfway to Rochester, I got to visit with a dear SCS friend at the rest stop.  Sue (coffeestamper) and I had a fab time chatting over some coffee.  AND.....she brought me a bottomless bag of treats as an early birthday present (my b'day is in NOV., so it was quite a surprise).  One of the gems enclosed in that bag of treasures was this adorable snowman stamp.  My stamping time has been somewhat limited lately and it seems like I am always doing required (DT) stamping and not 'playing', so I was determined to find time to make at least one card to show Sue how much I LOVE this stamp.  So....that is the story behind this one.......!!!!!!

This is the card I created for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge this week.  I used this fabulous Penny Black stamp along with this fab Mark's Finest Papers' sentiment.  This card is actually VERY similar to one I made for a long ago challenge, but with different dp and different sentiment.

Well....I think that is enough for today.....I actually have a few more to share, but I'll save those for another day.  Hope you enjoyed the variety for today.

TS Monday PLUS DT Call

Today's Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge was to create a card with a square, rectangle and a circle.  I sort of stretched those goals to meet my sketch....lol!!!  I have a circle (of which the bottom is covered), actually two rectangles (the green and raspberry panels.....with rounded corners), and a square (the card base itself....again with rounded corners).  The set I am sneak peeking today is Musical Dexter.  He is a friendly and musical dragon....not the fire breathing kind.  This set will be available on Thursday.  It has an error in one of its sentiments, so it will be sold at a discount right from its release.

Crazy 4 Challenges #21 In the Pink

Lori Boyd, our hostess for the month of January, challenged the 'Crazies' to make a card using pink. Well, that wasn't hard for me 'cuz my hands automatically reach for pink on a daily basis. I decided to 'try' to make a pink card without adding black....making it a real challenge for me. Well....I DID IT!! The only black on this card is the stamped image. No black cardstock at all.....are you all amazed????? The dp I used is by Martha Stewart.

Our sponsoring company once again is The Greeting Farm, but I am sad to say I do not have any of their images. So, once again, I used a Lollipop image by our own Lori Boyd, our hostess. Her stamps are available from Stamping Bella. This one is called Fluttery Lollipop.

TSG Birthday Bash Blog Hop - Fairy Good Day

Today is the first sneak peek at the new sets being released by There She Goes. The images and sentiment on this door hanger come from the set called Fairy Good Day. I just loved this poem for the tooth fairy, so that was the decision maker in making this pocket door hanger.

Isn't that just the sweetest sentiment? I must be into tooth fairies as at a recent baby shower I gave a tooth fairy box.

There is an assortment of mushrooms, fairies, flowers, and sentiments in this set. Actually it would be a fab set for scrapbooking if you have little ones, or grandchildren for that matter.

CDB Fairy Sweet

When playing last night I also made this sweet little card. I don't make many cards appropriate for young girls as I have all boys in the family (nephews, godsons). However, it was fun to play with the girlie colors and embellies. This stamps comes from a set called Make a Wish by Rita Marie and available from Creative Design Boutique. Isn't she one stylin' little fairy!!! The designer paper is also by Rita Marie.

I had a wonderful afternoon/evening today. As many of you know I LOVE the ocean and the peace I find there. Well today I went to a friend's picnic which was held at a rented cottage at Groton Long Point. For those of you not from our area, that is an area on Long Island Sound along the Connecticut coast. Wow....was that ever what I needed. Besides great company and mounds of food, the view was just gorgeous. Sailboats floated by, the sounds of little ones traveled over the water from the nearby beach, seagulls flying overhead, and the wondrous, majestic sight of the waters. Ah.....so relaxing. Add in some warm sunshine and a cool breeze and.....well....it was a little bit of heaven here on Earth!!

Fairy Inspired

( First....for the perfectionists out there, I know that I need to go back and fix that spot to the left of the wand.....somehow I missed it when I used the irridescent embossing powder. You'll just have to forgive me as my peepers are on the weak side. Sometimes I don't see the mistakes until they are blown up here on the computer monitor.)

Anyhoo.......For this Inspiration Challenge card, I used a few of the fairy costumes for girls as my starting point. I used this fabulous set by Rita Marie and available at Creative Design Boutique which includes both the large fairy image and the border of teenie fairies, along with other stamps. The set is called Make a Wish.

I think the construction of the card is pretty evident and doesn't need much description. I did use all neutrals on this card so that it was eligible for this week's Stampin B's challenge.

Hope you are having a great weekend. Here in Connecticut we are once again in the sun. People are taking advantage of the day and you can smell the freshly mown lawns everywhere. I sat outside for a bit and the sun was nice and warm, while in the shade there was a beautiful cool breeze.......wish the weather was like this most of the year.
