Totally Stampalcious Monday PLUS

The challenge for Totally Stampalicious' Monday Challenge was to have a frozen treat on our card.  Well, I was totally motivated by this kite die I have been wanting to use......after all.....kites and popsicles certaiinly mean summer to me (at least in my younger years...lol!!)!!!  I used the newly released Poppi Penguin set from Totally Stampalicious' Bugaboo line.  The kite die is from My Favorite Things.

We certainly hope you'll do two things.....

This card was made for fun and will be added to a stash I am making for a friend's daughter.  She is very active in her church and the woman's ministry and, in that capacity, writes notes to people often.  I am trying to make some 'easy to mail' cards for her to use.  This card was created with Mark's Finest Papers set, Lilacs in Summer.  I scored the lines on the background piece, rounded corners, paper pierced, and added a few gem flowers.

Did this one wake you up????  I had fun with the coloring of this fab bloom by Innovative Stamp Creations.  It is a big, bold image and, IMHO, demanded some bold colors!!  The background was also stamped with an Innovative Stamp Creations stamp.  And, due to its size and boldness, I only added a lattice border and a ribbon....didn't seem to need anything else.

It's Another CCEE and Stampin B's Day!!!! (plus some)

Happy Cinco de Mayo !!!

Once again, I was able to combine my two Thursday challenge teams' cards. 

Shirley is our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge this month and she challenged us to make a Cinco de Mayo card.....using bright colors, maybe a chihuahua card, or anything to celebrate that day!!!  I obviously went with the colors AND the celebration.  So that is the reason for the drinks.....I would imagine quite a few Margaritas or such are consumed at such a celebration!!!

Faith is our hostess for the Stampin B's Challenge team.  She asked us to use glitter, Flower Soft, or liquid applique.   I didn't think I'd want my drinks to be fuzzy with Flower Soft, or foaming up with the applique, but.....I don't do glitter!!!  (I have enough trouble with my peepers...don't need to add glitter to my eyes.  PLUS.....I am dangerous with glitter.....just ask Mothermark, Traci, peggysue, and Minister's Wife!!!)  So....you are wondering....what did she use?????  I used a gel pen which has glitter in it that doesn't fly around.  It was used on each drink and flower.

I had some fun with this week's SCS Sketch Challenge.  And...in total I created three cards using that sketch.  One of the cards is also for the Timeless Tuesday Flourishes Challenge which was to use an image that would appeal to a young person.  I think the first card with the Flourishes silhouette does that.  The two cards that follow are the others done for the Sketch Challenge.

This card uses an image and sentiment from Innovative Stamp Creations.

This card used an image from the Greet the Day with Gerber set from Mark's Finest Papers.

Saturday Challenges Plus Some

The challenge for Speedy's Friends this week was to use a hat pin.  I used this fab hat pin I bought at Mark's Finest Papers, which happens to be the source of my very fav Happy Pansies stamp set which I also used.  I added some dry embossing, paper piercing, pearls and ribbons.

This is Silli's last challenge as our April hostess for the Crazies.  Our Crazy4Challenges goal this week was a recipe challenge.......one button, two flowers, and three designer papers.  For this challenge I also played with some new Spellbinder dies for the leaves and fern......I am LOVING them.  I also did some paper piercing.  My flowers are by Prima.

This next card is one I did for a MFT sketch I found online.  I am really not sure if it is old or current, but I just loved it.  I used an older MFT stamp and glammed it up with some fab dp, some embossing, paper piercing, a rose, some pearl flourishes, and some individual pearls.  I also entered this into Friday's Free4All Challenge on SCS as it was to use many layers.

This last one was also entered into Friday's Free4All Challenge to use many layers.  The sentiment and butterbly are from newly released stamps by Innovative Stamp Creations.  I also used a couple EK Success border punches, paper piercing, SU ribbon, and some dry embossing.  I also added lots of bling to jazz it up.

I have a lot to share today, so I will keep it short.....

This is my card for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  Cindy challenged us to make a card with a butterfly.  The sentiment on this card is from Mark's Finest Papers.  The die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.

The Stampin B's Challenge, hostessed by 'moi', is to make a monochromatic card with blues along with neutral colors AND paper piecing.  For this card I used a set and die from My Favorite Things.

While I was away in the Carolinas, I was supposed to have a few blog posts for the Innovative Stamp Creations recent release.  However, that was one thing I just couldn't get done before my extended trip to North and South Carolina.  So today I am sharing all the cards I made for the release.

I apologize for the poor photos......my natural light bulb decided to 'go on vacation' and this was the best I could do without it.

Think of the Vintage Artist Box line as your Art-Mural! Once your piece is finished you can showcase it somewhere in your studio or art area (or in my case, your stamp cave)! Consider the following themes when working on your Art Mural: butterflies, eclectic, faces of women, travel, flowers, vintage and many more.

My theme, quite obviously is the ocean.  I used the vintage artist box and sentiments from the set being released as well as other images from previously released stamps sheets from Innovative Stamp Creations.  Now, I must admit, that my creative process on this card was one of peseverence....but I am so THRILLED that I saw this through to the end as I really am so happy with the results.  I stamped the large artist box stamp in Celery, and then cut out (with an exacto knife) many of the green boxes.  I left a few as they were.  (The cutwork was difficult for me --weak peepers and all --, so don't look too closely at that!!!! )  I then colored my fav ocean scene stamp and put it behind three of the cut windows.  I then inked the world map background stamp on creamy caramel cardstock and placed that behind all the remaining 'empty' areas.  I then stamped various images and placed then on or behind to create my artist box (palms, butterfly) I really must thank my team members for their encouragement and examples which all came together to motivate me on this creation.  You girls rock!!!!  AND, yes....let me say this again....I am pleased with the results!!

By the time you are looking at this, I will be heading to the ocean......a short trip to Maine!!!  A day spent near the ocean is a day well spent!!!!   I will be visiting my fav lighthouse and gazing at the ocean.  LIFE IS GOOD!!!!   So if you have any questions for me, leave them in your comments and I'll get back to you when I get back home.

ISC Release -- Day 3

Nesting!


This line is simply exquisite.  These Innovative Stamp Creations' images are ideal for those special occasions such as a new neighbor, a friend who is moving,  a new baby or  a friend in need!  Nowadays many of the stamps on this line are quite trendy and versatile,  You will be able to create a very simple card, an altered art item, or a project of any kind.

I was particularly drawn to the nests in this set, which actually come in three sizes.  There are also several sentiments, a bird, a birdhouse, and so many versatile stamps.  This set is also very versatile as to style.  The images can go anywhere from elegant to shabby chic to country.  That can't be said about every set!D

On both of these cards I was drawn to the Cool Caribbean blues.  I used ivory cardstock for both, and added some Creamy Caramel on the first one.  On the Trio of Nests card I used texture, while on the Single Nest card I used an Ornare template for some fancy piercing as well as an elegant EK Success border punch.  The ribbon used on the second card is available from Mark's Finest Papers.

ISC Release -- Day 2 -- Flourish

Background Series: Flourish


Do you enjoy background stamps?  Don’t they add such depth to your card?  What’s unique about the variety of background series by Innovative Stamp Creations is that many come with a few sayings! The background Flourish sheet  being released this week has a both a tag and a label, both of which are ideal for that final touch on your project!

On this card, I used the Flourish background stamp with Perfect Plum ink on Pal Plum cardstock.  I also stamped the tag that comes with this set in Certainly Celery and then cut it out  for my sentiment panel.  The sentiment actually comes from a different ISC stamp sheet.  The rose comes from an ISC stamp sheet called Sketch of Roses. 

On this second card, I combined the scallop  and distressed script from yesterday's Elements set with the Flourish from today's.  I added a flower from an older ISC set, stamping the bloom three times and creating a multilayered flower.  The background is designer paper.

ISC Release -- Day 1 -- A Touch of Dimension

Dimensional Elements: Edges

The images on this line from Innovative Stamp Creations are truly unique.   They will accent your card or altered notebook and so much more!  Think of these stamps as a diecut or punch!  You can create a quick card to more elaborate creations!  Make your own designer paper!  GO with the flow and have fun!  Some of the images on this line are: scallop, distressed paper, vintage script, triangle, zig-zag edge and a small label.

I used three of the edges (scallop, zigzag, and distressed script) to create the background on this card.  The silhouette flowers are from another ISC sheet released last month.  I inked the zigzag edge in Celery, the scallop edge in Pumpkin, and the script in black.  I stamped them all on So Saffrom cardstock.   I choose to use them this way, but each of these could certainly be used cutout like a punched border or die cut.

MFP Release AND Tea Party Destination Station PLUS a CAS

As a member of the challenge DT for Mark's Finest Papers, I am not participating in the blog hop, but I thought I would share a card made with Autumn Fun, one of the sets being released this week.  If you interested in hopping, START HERE and then follow the directions given there.

You are going to be seeing a lot of butterflies fluttering around the gallery today.  The Teapot Tuesday Challenge involves butterfles.  We are making these cards for a fellow SCS stamper who is on a tough journey right now......chemotherapy for cancer.  If you have an extra minute or two, you could certainly make someone's day.  Be sure to go HERE and click on the challenge with the blue arrow for details.

Innovative Stamp Creations New Release -- Day 4

Today we are reviewing the new release from Innovative Stamp Creations.

This card used Sketch of Roses III.  On the mid green panel you will see the large 'backgrounder-type' stamp included in the set.  I stamped it in black on green cardstock, and then used a green Copic marker to color in some of the fern in the lower right corner of that panel.  I then matted it in black, did some paper piercing, and added a Martha Stewart punched border.  I again used the large rose image from the set, stamping it three times and layering the flower for added dimension.  I dry embossed the pink back panel with a Sizzix embossing folder, and then added a ribbon and bow.

On this card I used Nature's Silhouettes III and Ledger.  I'm not so sure I could even explain the creative process on this one.....it just kind of took over and created itself.  It is not my 'comfort' style, but I must say I do love the result.........especially that fabulous image.....such a fun and fabulous set.  You are going to want these!!!!

Innovative Stamp Creations New Release -- Day 3

Today the Creative Architects will be showcasing the following set from Innovative Stamp Creations.

Mini Ledger

This line is ideal for Artist Trading Cards or when you need a quick Mini-Card!  You can even accent the pages on a small Mini Book too! The tab image is super easy to use as you’ll see in the sample below.  You can use almost any of the phrases on the inside of the tab to accent your card, etc!

Betsy asked us to create a small set of 3 X 3 cards in our favorite color palette.  Well, my very fav combo is black, RED, and white, but lately I seem to be using these colors in many combinations:  pretty in pink, river rock, celery, and cool caribbean.  I first stamped the mini-ledger image on the cardstock papers of choice, cut out and then matted in black to make them 'pop'.  I finished them off by stamping a small script stamp on the right side of the ledger, an image also included in the set.  I had intended for them to go on the card straight up and down, but the minute I put the image askew, well, I knew that was how they would stay.  I then pierced a bit, diagonally on the sides of the ledger panels.  I stamped the tab stamp in my colors of choice and then stamped the sentiment inside each.  I cut out and attached them with two brads.  I knew that I wanted to use these Prima roses which had been 'burning a hole' on my worktable.  I then went to my Beautiful Butterflies III set and stamped the smaller butterfly on white cardstock.  Colored them with my Copics, and then popped the wings up with pop dots for a 3-D effect.  AND.....that is my story!!!

Innovative Stamp Creations New Release -- Day 2

Today the Creative Architects from Innovative Stamp Creations will be showcasing two items being released this week.

Ledger (from the Background Series)
Nature Silhouettes III

Lately, have you noticed all the lovely Ledger design paper at your local stamp store?  Well, now you can create a ton of lovely backgrounds on your cards and even in a mini book with this lovely Ledger image!

The Creative Architects were challenged to incorporate some of the images from both of these lines on our card. Moreover, Nature Silhouette III bodes well with Nature Silhouette I and II.  (All among my favorites!!)

A little tip from Betsy: Use caution, but you can cut apart each of the images on the Hollyhock Shadow stamp and place them on your acrylic mount and arrange to your liking, then stamp away!

Betsy encouraged us to use emboss resist on this card.  I used SU white craft ink to stamp the Ledger background stamp on white cardstock.  I used detail white embossing powder and heat embossed the image.  I then sponged on Pretty in Pink ink, with the result of a rather feminine ledger paper.  I then glitzed that panel up with some rhinestones after stamping the 'hey g/f' sentiment on the top line.  I put that mid panel on a dry embossed rose red panel that I had created using a Sizzix embossing folder and my Cuttlebug.  I then stamped the main image from the Nature's Silhouettes III set on black paper, again using the white craft ink and detail white embossing powder, and then heat embossed it.  I used a Marvy corner rounder on that main panel.  I then added a bow for the final finishing touch.

Innovative Stamp Creations New Release -- Day 1

Today the Creative Architects are showcasing the set called.....
Sketch of Roses III

Aren’t roses utterly breathtaking? This stamp line by Innovative Stamp Creations has a lovely background image approx. size 4 ½ x 5 which lends itself to some many different techniques. You’ll find this line quite versatile!  The delicate Roses are so easy to color-in with your fave medium of choice!   And...the design makes it easy for layering a 3-D Effect.

On this card I used the large rose image in the set.  (There is a smaller one as well.)  I actually stamped the rose image on a large piece of white cardstock.  I wanted my rose to be 'out of the box' so when using my Nestie to die cut the main panel, I first trimmed the leaves and part of the rose so I could leave it out of the die cutting process.  I then embossed the mail panel and added one of the sentiments from the set.  I then stamped the rose image two more times on cardstock.  I colored all three rose images.  Then I cut out two of the roses to create layering/3-D evvect on the rose.  I embossed the mid-green panel with  a Sizzix embossing folder.  I used a Marvy corner punch for the upper corner punchouts and a Martha Stewart punch for the lower border effect.  I did a bit of piercing on the upper panel, added some ribbon, and used a black marker to outline the die cut main panel and make it pop out from the back panel.  I added some rhinestone glitz to the lower border and just a touch to the upper corners.
Now...you are going to want to check out the work of the other Architects.  They are sure to dazzle you with their Rose creations.

April Artist Projects:  Day 1

Ever find yourself not using stamps you recently purchase? Ever wonder where has your Mojo gone? Sometimes experimenting with a different medium or even a card layout, takes your creativity to another level. Welcome to Innovative Stamp Creations' new release day!!!  This release, as many in the past, is truly unique! Why, you wonder? Let’s start with Friends Are Special.  Do you have one or a handful of important folks in your life? Are you grateful for their unwavering support? Wait till you see this stamp line.  Betsy challenged us to alter an item of choice, as a gift for this special person in our life!

Now onto Destination. With spring literally around the corner, are you planning a vacation? These images lend themselves to creating a variety of things, such as mini cards, minibook of your travels, scrapbook pages, and more!  You might even make a card wishing a fabulous trip for someone you know (in hopes that maybe they'll invite you along!!...lol!!!)

Of course, the last stamp sheet of this release, Time, truly compliments Destination, but also could easily  incorporate images from Journey of Discovery, Men of Wisdom, Birch Tree Paintings, and, well, you can just  imagine the endless creations!

Challenge - Inspiration

Tosh challenged the CCEE team to another inspiration challenge this week.  The picture to the left is from William-Sanoma.  As you can see, I took my inspiration from the nest of eggs.

 I colored my image with my Copics, used my Classic Oval Nesties to cut the image and the mat, CB'd my trio of mid panels, and paper pierced around my background layer.  I added some fabulous ribbon from Mark's Finest Papers and hung a charm I bought at Michael's.

Challenge - Monochromatic/Green

Nancyruth was our hostess for the week and she challenged us to make a card using any shade of green.  I must admit that I was totally influenced by these fab mint green rhinestones I purchased recently.  The sad thing is that they really don't show up very well in this photo.  I used some mint green cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers which matches perfectly.  I then used one of my absolute favorite stamps EVER, which is my fern set from SU.  I heat embossed it in white on the mint card stock.  I used my Nesties to cut out the sentiment and mat, added some piercing with my SU piercing tools, and used my fav scallop corner rounder on the corners on the right side only.  I used a new-to-me CB embossing folder on the background.

Friends Are Special Set

Tomorrow is the release date for Innovative Stamp Creations' newest stamp sheets.  You will truly be amazed by them.  They are not only fabulous on their own, but they are sets that can be used in so many ways with some of the stamps you already own.  The sheet represented here uses the Friends Are Special sheet.  On this card I created the dimensional flower with two of the flower images, made the background with another large image, and added one of the fab sentiments from the sheet.  On the background I used the emboss resist technique.  I embossed in white on white and then sponged on olive ink.  Love the way it blends with the graduated colors on the ribbon.

Fabulous Release at ISC -- Delicate Daisies

I just wanted to share with you another card and a treat package made with the Delicate Daisies set released yesterday by Innovative Stamp Creations.  I just love this flower AND this sentiment.  When I think of some of my very dearest and long cherished friends, I sometimes wonder how people who are so different, with varied interests and abilities, could stay loyal and supportive throughout all these years.  I am blessed to have gathered many friends from various stages and events in my life.  I treasure our similarities and our differences.  I cherish each and every friend, no matter how long or short the time we have shared..

Welcome! Just a month or so and Spring will arrive! How about a few images to spark your creativity?! Throughout the year, ISC will introduce different sized-lines! So without further ado, ISC Half-Sheets, 4 x 5 ¼ with loads of versatile! Let’s start with Dandelions, Delicate Daisy, and Eclectic Butterfly and take a look at how some of the Architects incorporated the background image Netting. 

(I could not find my Netting stamp in the stamp cave, but if you want to see a card using that background stamp, please look HERE.)


A few tidbits about these lines….

The open Daisy was created for those who enjoy water coloring to a wrinkle free distress’n technique and more. You could use a 7/8” circle punch on the round image to add as an embellishment on card.

The Butterfly is ideal for a paper piecing technique as well as embossing! You could use a 1” circle punch on the round image to accent your design.

On the Dandelions sheet, use the frames to create a 3-D effect on your card or use ¾” circle punch on the speck-partial-round image to accent your creation.

These lines combine well with the following background series:
Specks, Canvas & Distressed Script.
