Anne is our hostess for April, and for her last challenge this month she is reminding us that it's baseball season again (YAY!). Here is her  CCEE Stampers challenge.....

 

 Promote your favorite team, their colors,

or just use a baseball theme.

 

I went wiith the colors  of the Red Sox, my fav team....red, white and navy blue.

 

No stamps were 'hurt' in the creation of this card (except for the inside sentiment)

Let's Play Golf or Some Othe Sport with the CCEEers

 

 

Frances is our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge in the month of August.  This is her challenge for the week....

 

 

Apparently this month is National Golf Month … so for our challenge this week let’s create a card which features some sort of sport. Bonus points if you create a Golf themed card. Oh and we might need to see the color green on your card too.

 

 

I have lots of golfers among my family and friends, so I was happy to use this virging MB die of golf cart and flags.  I also used a landscape die from MFT.  The sentiment is from MFT (T think), while the cloud stamp is from Impression Obsession.  The tree lines are from MB.

Football with the CCEE Stampers

Well.....I have to say that Anne gave me a hard challenge this week for the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  It apparently is Brett Favre's birthday, so we were to make a card related to football.  Now I know to many this is the big sports season of the year.  However, since I am not really a football fan, it is when football comes in and wipes out my TV of anything I want to watch......not making me a happy camper. 

I was lucky to have this Totally Stampalicious set I could use from my DT work as I would probably never go out and buy any stamp related to football....lol!!!  I did think the striped paper gave the idea of a football field, and filled it out a bit with the MVP border.  However, once again, I had the whole card made when I did the 'kick' sentiment and bumped something and made it crooked.......can't tell you how many times that happens to me when I am stamping a sentiment right on the base.  However, I decided to live with it as I would probably never use this card anyway.

The CCEE'ers Go Fishing

Shirley aka Shirt is our hostess for the CCEE Stamper's Challenge this month.  She gave us the theme of fishing for this week's challenge.  I automatically went and grabbed this silhouetted fishing scene which I LOVE and haven't used in a while.  I have other fishing related stamps, but this is the one that I gravitate to each time.  I really should know the company that make this fav stamp, but I have forgotten.  If you want to know leave the question in a comment and I will get back to you.  The sentiment is from an MFT set.  The sketch is Wednesday's Sketch Challenge from SCS......which is the reason I am posting this a few hours early...as I am going to also upload it there.  (Sorry, my CCEE friends.....it was a way to do two challenges for today).

Totally Stampalicious Monday - Sports

Hi!!  It is time for another Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge.  Hope you can join us this week.  We do play well with others, ya' know!!!

The challenge this week was to do a sports related card.  Well, I am in need of a birthday card for a 94 year old golfer friend, the father of a dear friend.  So my mind went right to Golfer Gus.  I also combined this challenge with the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges on Splitcoast, so you might also see this card in the galleries there.

A Golfing Destination with da Mudda

This is the card I made for this weeks' Tuesday Tea Pot Challenge.   This week's destination is Harrisville, Pennsylvania.  Nathan (goes by Manny) is only 31 years old and was recently diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. He is currently undergoing chemo and bone marrow tests.   Our theme this week was golf, since Nathan (Manny) is a golfer.  He is a young dad, and we are all hoping for a spreedy and complete return to good health for him.

My golf stamp is from DRS Designs, while the flag image and sentiment are from Lil' Inker Designs.  The tree is from Stampscapes.

A Challenging Thursday

Did you know that June 15th is  Fly a Kite Day to celebrate the anniversary of Ben Franklin’s kite experiment in 1752. Frances, our CCEE Stampers' June hostess. has challenged us today to include a kite on our cards.

I took the easy way out on this one....this is dp from one of the summer themed packets (forgot to write down the name...sorry!!)  I stamped Ketto's Dolly from Bella Stamps on white cardstock, colored with Copics, and then cut her out.  Attached her with foam tape and added three red brads and some piercing and that was that....EASY PEASY!!!!

Vicki D. is our Stampin B's hostess this week.  She challenged us to use a border punch.  I used a Fiskar's combined border/corner punch to create the white back layer.  The image is from the newly released Poppies, Poppies, Poppies set from Mark's Finest Papers.

On a personal note......the last of the teachers/staff that are part of our Old Fart's Club is retiring this year.  Last night we had an Old Fart's celebration for her.  What a wonderful circle of friends we are so lucky to have in our lives!!!  We don't always seem to get together as a whole group, but when we do, what a MARVELOUS time we have!!!

CCEE and Stampin B's Challenges

Lois gave us a real challenge this week.  The Stampin B's were given a 1-2-3 challenge......1 layer, 2 stamps, 3 colors.  As many of you know, 1 layer is near impossible for me.......but I did it!!!!  I used the image and sentiment stamp from the newly releases set, Poppies, Poppies, Poppies, from Mark's Finest Papers.  For my three colors, I used green, red, and black/gray.  I added paper piercing, ribbon (SU), and a ribbon charm.

Francis is the hostess of the CCEE Stamper's Challenge this month.  Francis shared with us that the baseball was invented on June 12th 1839, so for our challenge this week we were to create a card that has a sports theme. The sport doesn’t have to be baseball.   I went with golf.  This card will go to my golf-crazy sister at some point, and then I will add a sentiment.  I used a stamp from I Brake for Stamps.  I somewhat borrowed this sketch from a past Mojo Monday sketch I had printed up a while ago.  I embossed the white background to resemble a golf ball's texture.

Doubling Up on Challenges

With the new puppy, doctor appts., and trying to keep up with my swimming.....and a lunch or two with friends, my stamping time is pretty limited.  So I was happy to combine my Tea Party card with today's Sketch Challenge on SCS.  Rox gives us such fab sketches and 'da Mudda' gives us the opportunity to send our Tea Party cards around the country and the world to help bring smiles to some folks with various challenges.  This week's recipient is a young man recovering from some severe burns.  We were to do a sports related card......but once again I have found a 'hole' in my stamp collection.....not many sports stamps.....so I went with my fav fishing silhouette stamp by 100 Proof Press.  I think fishing is a sport!!!

I had a nice surprise today....I found out that one of my Totally Stampalicioous cards is featured at the Bugaboo Stamps Blog today.  How fun is that??!!!

Well....have to go play with the pup and dog as I need to head out to lunch soon with some very dear friends....haven't seen many of them for a bit considering the winter we have had!!  Enjoy YOUR day!!!

Featuring Pat Smethers and the Tea Party

Pat Smethers is the Featured Stamper on SCS today and I just had to case one of her manly cards.  Of course, hers was made with the MAN from the WWW set......I don't have the MAN but I do have a godchild who is a golfer and has a birthday party tomorrow....so we went from the Wild West to the golf course.  The silhouette image is from DRS Designs.  The scenery is a whole bundle of stamps.

I don't always do the FS challenge on SCS as I usually take Sundays off, but I just had to do one to honor (I hope...lol) Pat as she is just the dang sweetest SCSer.  Be sure to stop in to the FS and check out Pat's glorious gallery full of beauties and handsome WWW men.

I was late to the Tea Party this week......I had some maintenance done on my peepers on Tuesday and today (Saturday) is the first day I am going without my eyeshield (actually, I kind of resembled this patched pirate for most of the week....somehow I didn't look so cute as he does....wonder why????...lol).....Anyhooooo...this is my late entry for the party.....to read my description/poem you will have to view the card at SCS....you can use this link if you want to read it.

TEA PARTY and TSG Birthday Bash Reminder

Today's Tea Party involves following the CLUES tp find the culprit at Tudor Mansion. Please go to da Muddermark's blog to get the whole story.

Anyhooooo.......I have not checked out all the other guilty characters at the Tudor Mansion, but Ms. Scarlett is looking awfully guilty. After many years of vacationing here at the Tudor, years in which she sits around in the lap of luxury, well ...she is acting very suspiciously. Not one to exert herself physically, today she is out GOLFING!!! And she is SWEATING....not a ladylike thing to do......VERY suspicious behavior.......I am thinking she has three motives for this....

1. It gets her our of the mansion while the questioning is going on.

2. Gives an excuse for her nervous sweating.

3. Gives her a perfect excuse for hiding the murder weapon, a lead pipe , as the shaft of one of the golf clubs.

So I surmise that Ms. Scarlett is THE culprit, with the lead pipe (hidden in a golf club shaft), and it happened in whatever room has the bar (the 19th hole).

Evan's B'Day Take Two

My godchild Michael has always been a very special young man in my life. He now has a family of his own, and his oldest boy, Evan, will be celebrating his 5th birthday with family and friends on Sunday. I made a card earlier in the month, but when this Stamp Happy image came in this week, I knew I just had to make a new birthday card for him. He played 'midget' soccer for the first time this year and just loved it. I gave him a green based uniform to match his uniform IRL.
