Let's Play Golf or Some Othe Sport with the CCEEers

Frances is our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge in the month of August.  This is her challenge for the week....

Apparently this month is National Golf Month … so for our challenge this week let’s create a card which features some sort of sport. Bonus points if you create a Golf themed card. Oh and we might need to see the color green on your card too.

I have lots of golfers among my family and friends, so I was happy to use this virging MB die of golf cart and flags.  I also used a landscape die from MFT.  The sentiment is from MFT (T think), while the cloud stamp is from Impression Obsession.  The tree lines are from MB.

Please to be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to get your sporting spirit movitated.

Ooooops.....I Am Late to the Fair

Had this done, but forgot to post it here........you can check out the details for the challenge at the CCEE Blog.  I chose to do this card because at many of our local fairs the kids compete in a 'decorate your bicycle' competitions, along with getting safety instructions.

The Crazies Get Ready for Father's Day

Kristine, the Crazy4Challenges hostess for June, has encouraged us to get ready for Father's Day with this week's challenge.  As I am not in need of Father's Day cards, this will be a birthday card for a dear friend whose b'day will be during the summer.

The image and sentiment are from a SU stamp set.  I 'framed' my image with two Spellbinder die cuts, adding gold brads to the curves.  The sentiment was die cut with a My Favorite Things die.

Be sure to check out the masculine cards at the Crazies Blog.

A Totally Stampalicious Monday

The challenge for Totally Stampalicious Monday was to make a card using the color combo of purple, orange and black.  I decided to use the image from Road Trip Stella from the Bugaboo Line at Totally Stampalicious.  The bats and sentiments are from other companies.

Please be sure to check out the Totally Stampalicious Blog to see the fabulous AND COLORFUL creations by the rest of the team AND to see how you can play right along with us.

The Crazies are going Masculine....well, with their cards, that is!!!!

Lynda is out hostess for the Crazy4Challenges this month.  She challennged us to make masculine cards since Father's Day is around the corner.  I used a newly released set by Mark's Finest Papers called All Aboard.  Please know that in real life the main image does not look so dark and muddy as it does in the picture.  I also used another stamp from the set to create the horizontal image border.  The sentiment comes from another recently released set called Floating Along.

Now be sure to check out the masculine cards by the rest of this fabulously talented team at the  Crazies Blog.  You are sure to be inspired.

I will also be entering this in the Speedy's Friends Challenge which was also to make a masculine card.

Cows and Trains, Oh My!!!!

Frances is the hostess for June with the CCEE Stampers Challenge.  June is dairy month, so in honor of our member who is in the dairy industry Hoots wanted us to include a cow on our cards this month.  In my collection of stamps, I have few cows.  I really should have gone a bit more elegant with my card because the person being honored always makes such rich, warm, elegant cards.  This one, however, is for her wild side....and we all know she has one of those!!!!!  This is a digital image from Michelle ?  (if someone recognizes it and knows a last name, please leave it for me in your comment).

Now be sure to check out the bovine gallery at the CCEE Blog.  You are sure to be 'moo'ved by their creativity!!!

Our hostess for the Stampin B's this week is Brenda (Benzi).  She has challenged us to create a masculine card using the colors black and brown plus one other color.  I chose So Saffron as my other color.  I used images and a sentiment from a soon-to-be-released set from Mark's Finest Papers called All Aboard.

Now be sure to stop by the Stampin B's Blog to see the masculine creations by the rest of this fabulous no-rulz team.

Tea party Challenge on SCS

The recipient of this week's Tea Party cards is a 10 year old who loves boating and fishing, along with many other things.  I used this stamp from Innovative Stamp Creations as it covers the 'boat' theme.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  This young man, Colton, is suffering from Osteosarcoma, which is a form of bone cancer   and the people at his school are encouraging people to send cards to 'make his day'.

If you have time, we would love for you to participate and make the day of someone facing difficult days ahead.  Just go HERE (MMTPT147) and click on the challenge with the red heart in front of it.  We are a crazy bunch of tea party gals, but we do play well with others!!!!

It's another CHALLENGING Saturday!!!!

Tomorrow, May 15 is National Chocolate Chip Day!!! As this month's hostess for the Crazy4Challenges, I challenged the team to have some image related to ‘chocolate’ on their card/project today.  (Eating a chocolate chip cookie during the creative process is optional –but who could pass up a reason to eat a chocolate chip cookie or two??!!!)

I used an unmounted stamp of a Hershey's Kisses bag to create my background and a Stampabilities stamp for my sentiment which was die cut with a Spellbinders die.  I used, once again, my Spellbinders leaves/ferns dies for the accents, along with some old SU chocolate chip satin ribbon.

The Crazies gallery should be positvely deeeeelish today, so be sure to stop by.....just click HERE.

I am also the hostess for the Speedy's Friends Challenge this week.  I challenged that team to make a card with monochromatic blues.  I used the newly released set from Mark's Finest Papers called Big Boy Toys.  It is a fabulous set for masculine cards of all sorts.  This is a pretty simple design, something I tend to do with masculine cards.  I just added a bit of texture, some piercing, and brads.

Be sure to take the time to visit the Speedy's post on the MFP blog......it is sure to be full of monochromatic creations in blue!!!!

A Few Challenges to Share........

This card was created for two SCS challenges.  Our destination station for the Tuesday Tea Party Challenge is a police officer hurt in the line of duty who happens to love dogs.  I used one of my fav funny sets from There She Goes Clear Stamps (TSG) as I thought it might generate a smile during his recuperation.  This is also for last week's Sketch Challenge on SCS which I just never seemed to get around to doing.  Fab sketch, Roxie!!!

I am also entering this one into TSG's Challenge to use wet embossing.  I used it on my sentiment.  This is also being done for the Wild Orchid Challenge to have a sentiment on your card.

This second card was done for the SCS Techniique Challenge which was to use silhouette images.  As many of you know, I have times when my peepers are pretty weak, and at those times, silhouettes are just the best stamps for me.  So I was happy to play along with my SCS/blog friend, Joan Ervin, who was the hostess for this challenge this week.

I have entered this card into the Anything Goes challenge at Pile It On.

This third card is not my fav, but it is an example of my struggle to get better at CAS cards.  The CAS challenge on SCS was a sketch challenge this week, and this is my result.  CAS is soooooo tough......I know my image should have been smaller so the balance was better, but I just didn't have the time to do it all again.  The image is a digi from Delicious Designs.....and was chosen 'cuz it looks like my Pepper......figured the pooch might want to send a V'day card or two.

This card is also entered into the Cuttlebug Challenge to use a song for inspiration.  My song is the oldie called Puppy Love.  Also entering this into the Happy Monday challenge which was to use a heart in your design.  Since this image is a new one to my stash, I am entering the Crafty Pad challenge of using new stuff.

Snow/Ice/Freezing Rain/ Rain.....they are all on the menu for our weather tonight and tomorrow (Tuesday), so I am hoping to stay inside, warm, and play a bit more in the stamp cave.  Hopefully it comes in the stated order so that the rains will take care of snow without shoveling needed!!!!!

Faux and Fun

This card was done for this week's Totally Stampalicious Blog Challenge.  I used their recently released set called New Truck Gus.  He is quite the character (and probably just like someone you know.)

Be sure to go to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to check out the work of the Design Team, of which I am proud to be a Guest Designer for November and December.  Remember the goal this week is to use faux techniques:  faux ribbon, faux stitching, faux brads, faux buttons......faux whatever you want.  I created some faux brads by punching out smaller circles and 'building' them up with Diamond Glaze.

NOW....here are an assortment of cards I'd like to share with you......

.....from the Sketch Challenge at SCS

A late entry for last week's CAS Sketch Challenge on SCS.

Another holiday card.
All images on all of these cards (with the exception of the Totally Stampalicious card) are from SU.

Thanks for taking a moment to stop in and browse.  I know that your time is very valuable always, but especially during the holiday season.  If you left a comment, accept my sincere appreciation.

Have a great day,
joanne/jojot

Black and White CAS and NASCAR with Destinations

Today I am sharing with you my last two Tea Party cards. This first is for today's challenge which involved BLACK and WHITE.....my fav combo!!!

I was thrilled to particpate this week as the recipients of this card are Traci's parents.  Her mom suffers from MS and her dad just had knee replacement surgery, so both are residing in a rehabilitation/senior center at the moment.  Traci recently visited them, but thought cards from the Tea Partiers would brighten their life now that she has crossed the mountains and gone home.  Traci was my hostess with the mostest when I visited Colorado in May of 2009, along with a couple other stampers AND Mothermark too!!!  What a fabulous time we had in Steamboat Springs!!!!

To create this card, no stamps were 'harmed' (or used, other than a Penny Black 'hugs' sentiment).  Instead I finally used this fabulous extra long Spellbinder's border die that I purchased a long time ago.  My original intentions for this die was to add various colors to the embossed areas, but for this card the pure white was perfect.  I then added some random pearls on the embossed vine and also some larger pearls to the upper left.  I heat embossed the sentiment.

I LOVE the results....a truly dramatic CAS card.....what do you think?????

Now the next card was last week's Tea Party card.......
We were making cards for Charlene's stepson, Jesse, who is suffering the results of an unexpected and vicious dog bite near his eye.  Jess happens to be a NASCAR fan, so that was our theme for the week.  However, there is a hole in my collection.....I do not have anything NASCAR related in my collection......not even after visiting my very first Hobby Lobby in North Carolina......which actually had a big race going on that very day near Charlotte.  So I went at it with a sense of humor and figured even Dale Earnhardt probably started with a play car.......the sentiment was computer generated as was the checkered bkgd.

Thanks for stopping in today.  If you have a chance, join us at the Tea Party each Tuesday.....a good time is had by all AND we do make a difference in the lives of our card reciipients.  That is one of the joys in my retired life....to try to bring joy to others, both near and far.

Fun with Challenges

This first card was done for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS as well as for Flourishes Tuesday Challenge which was to use embossing.....I used both dry embossing and heat embossing.

This next, rather silly one, was made for da Muddamark's Tea Party challenge and also for the Mojo Monday sketch.

This third card was done for the Totally Stampalicious challenge for this week.....howevah...in all honesty as soon as I figure out 'what' I will be adding something to the upper right 'white' area......just not sure....still pondering!!!

Thanks for stopping by.  We are sunny this morn, but expecting rain later on.  However, I know it will be a good day as my Old Farts group is having lunch today, so I know I will be laughing and enjoying the visit.

A Fun and Challenging Time in the Stamp Cave.

Just took some time today to PLAY.  This first card, using images and sentiment by Totally Stampalicious, was done just for FUN!!

This next one was done for FUN plus a couple of online challenges.  One for the colors and another for the sketch ......  The Curtain Call and OWH Stars and Stamps

This next one was also fun, using the spotlight technique.  For this one I combined an SCS challenge and a Mark's Finest Papers challenge.

AND....this last one was done for FUN as well as for the Totally Stampalicious sketch challenge for this week.  I love this old Coffee Brawd.

Hope you enjoy one or two of these creations....each meant to generate a smile or a giggle.

Featuring Pat Smethers and the Tea Party

Pat Smethers is the Featured Stamper on SCS today and I just had to case one of her manly cards.  Of course, hers was made with the MAN from the WWW set......I don't have the MAN but I do have a godchild who is a golfer and has a birthday party tomorrow....so we went from the Wild West to the golf course.  The silhouette image is from DRS Designs.  The scenery is a whole bundle of stamps.

I don't always do the FS challenge on SCS as I usually take Sundays off, but I just had to do one to honor (I hope...lol) Pat as she is just the dang sweetest SCSer.  Be sure to stop in to the FS and check out Pat's glorious gallery full of beauties and handsome WWW men.

I was late to the Tea Party this week......I had some maintenance done on my peepers on Tuesday and today (Saturday) is the first day I am going without my eyeshield (actually, I kind of resembled this patched pirate for most of the week....somehow I didn't look so cute as he does....wonder why????...lol).....Anyhooooo...this is my late entry for the party.....to read my description/poem you will have to view the card at SCS....you can use this link if you want to read it.

New Release Date -- Innovative Stamp Creations

Escape, Travel, Explore……

This release is truly breathtaking! These stamps show the beauty in nature connected with the ocean that brings me such peace and tranquility. We have also incorporated Travel design paper, Film Strip by Tim Holtz, embellishments and more from the Travel & Escape Kit that is available from Innovative Stamp Creations starting today with the new releases.

In the creation of this first card I used the Rocks on the Shore stamp, along with the Netting Backgrounder. The sentiment was created from a sticker that will be part of the kit, and I added one of my collection of buttons and fiber at the top left. I also used some of the Travel designer paper.

The stamps being released today are:

Rocks on the Shore
By the Bay
On the Shore
Background Series: Netting

For this second card I used the On the Shore stamp. I again used a brad and the Tim Holtz film strip that will be similar to items in the kit for this month. I added a flower and a shell as the flower center from my own collection. I cuttlebugged the vanilla base layer and paper pierced its edges. The image was colored with Copics in soft, neutral tones.

The items to be included in this month's kit are shown in the third picture.

Be sure to visit each of the Creative Architects’ blogs to see some truly spectacular creations made with these stamps.

Sneak Peek for Innovative Stamp Creations

This panoramic card was created using the stamp called On the Shore and a backgrounder called Netting by Innovative Stamp Creations. The focal image was actually stamped twice, side by side, to create the panoramic image. I must say that the colors of the boats were greatly influenced by some fishing boats I once saw sitting in a bay in Aruba. Also used on this card was some Travel designer paper. Unfortunately, the brad, which says Explore, would not photograph well, no matter what I tried.

This stamp and two others, along with the Netting backgrounder will all be available from Innovative Stamp Creations, starting on Monday, November 9.

Jojot and the Jets.......story to follow....

Before getting into my story for this card, I would like to take a minute to tell those who have been asking that my sister came home from the hospital last night after her back surgery on Friday. When I was young and picking a career, I chose teaching because I was not meant to be a nurse......! Well....last night assured me that I made the right decision. Let's all pray for a speedy and calm recovery!!

Now to the story......first you might want to check out Mothermark's 'glob' for the full story.

Now here is MY story....

Well.... I missed the boat on last week's Teapot return with Muddamark, so I was determined to be on time for this one.

So....to the rescue of Santa these jets do go
They will pull Santa's sleigh to and fro.

If one jet is fast, then three must be faster
All embossed and shiny in embossed pearl silver.

We are off to the North Pole to get the job done
Christmas presents will be delivered before the rising of the sun.

Children will cheer, Parents will say 'Phew'
A happy holiday is wished for each of YOU!!!

If you have the time on Tuesdays, you really should try to play along with the Muddermark...what a crazy and fun group the Tea Partiers are. (And....we usually have some great treats with the tea.......today you might want to eat the sugar cookies, but stay away from the silvery fishies as they are being slung around by Big Butt Bertie and Bionic Burdie.)

If some of you could keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers so that her recovery is complete and without obstacles.

An Unusual Thank You for a Former Student....LOL

Now....before you get ready to call in the authorities, this former student is now 48 years old and he and his wife are my very dear friends. (Guess that tells you how ancient I am.......hitting the big 60 in a few months!!) They had me over to their house for a fabulous and hilarious family picnic last week and shared their reconstruction stories about a small trailor they are fixing up. Well, as soon as I heard that I knew I wanted to use There She Goes' Tastes Like Chicken set to make their card. They are both cutie patooties and are still as in love today as they were at their wedding years ago. AND.....they will totally roarrrrr at getting this from ME!!!

Now that I see it on the screen I know I have to correct some of the coloring. I can't see the color yellow well, so it is always a 'crap shoot' when I use it....and today it was obviously a problem....so know that before I send this out I will fill in both the yellow and the green areas I missed. Sorry about that!!!!! I normally would not use yellow, but they said that their trailor would be in the yellows and greens when completed.....so a girl has to use what a girl has to use!!!!!

Thanks for looking. If you have a minute, you might want to check out my tea party card in the previous post....too funny.......today seems to be a day for funny!!! And......there ain't notin' wrong wit' dat!!!!!!!
