A Mad Hatter of the Modern Type

This card was created for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS.  As always, we have a 'theme/story' and a 'destination'.  The destination for our cards this week is a fellow SCS'er.  Joyce has been battling cancer for 13 years. On November 10th, Joyce had surgery that lasted an unbelievable 15 hours. Although this surgery was necessary to battle her cancer, the result of it has been life changing for Joyce. She has been left with side effects similar to those of a stroke including impaired speech and a diet of soft and pureed foods.   The Tea Party ladies are sending cards to Joyce to make her days a little brighter.  I chose this image by Totally Stampalicious as Joyce is a Red Hatter.  The sentiment is by Impression Obsession.

If you ever have some spare time, you might want to join us at the Tea Party.  As a card maker, you will find great joy in brightening the day of people  you will never meet.  It gives your day a special glow to bring a bit of sunshine to someone else's day.

RECYCLE IT Challenge!

You just never know when you could win a prize!

My recycling project was done with a fabulous box which came with some absolutely deeeee-lish chocolate-covered strawberries sent by a dear SCS friend. I am savoring the treats and decided to reuse the box.  Thought I might be able to actually fit some cupcakes in the box as a prize.

I used the digital version of Cupcake JJ as I needed her to fit to a specific size.

Now let's see what you can recycle and use in a new creation!!!!

Have a great day!!!

Faux and Fun

This card was done for this week's Totally Stampalicious Blog Challenge.  I used their recently released set called New Truck Gus.  He is quite the character (and probably just like someone you know.)

Be sure to go to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to check out the work of the Design Team, of which I am proud to be a Guest Designer for November and December.  Remember the goal this week is to use faux techniques:  faux ribbon, faux stitching, faux brads, faux buttons......faux whatever you want.  I created some faux brads by punching out smaller circles and 'building' them up with Diamond Glaze.

NOW....here are an assortment of cards I'd like to share with you......

.....from the Sketch Challenge at SCS

A late entry for last week's CAS Sketch Challenge on SCS.

Another holiday card.
All images on all of these cards (with the exception of the Totally Stampalicious card) are from SU.

Thanks for taking a moment to stop in and browse.  I know that your time is very valuable always, but especially during the holiday season.  If you left a comment, accept my sincere appreciation.

Have a great day,
joanne/jojot

CAS and Totally Stampalicious

Well...I had two issues with this one......

FIRST.....CAS cards are the hardest cards for me.....I really struggle, but I actually was pleased with this VERY simple card.  However....that takes me to issue number two......

SECOND.....I could NOT get a good picture of this card.  I tried all sorts of tricks, but this was the best I could manage.  So you are going to have to imagine that this card is CRISP WHITE and really does POP.

The one thing that I had NO ISSUES WITH were the stamps.  This set, ATTITUDE RUBY, makes me smile every time I use it.  AND......now that we are into cold weather, I totally live this sentiment!!!

Now please join us in making CAS cards.  Get the details on the challenge at the Totally Stampalicious Blog.  You will also be able to check out the creations of the DT there as well.

Gift Packages -- Totally Stampalicious

The challenge for the Totally Stampalicious Blog this week is to create some gift/treat packaging.  I used a tutorial on SCS to create a 2-5-7-10 box.  I tweaked it just a bit, but stayed true to most of the measurements and directions.  I used the stamp set from Totally Stampalicious called Let It Snow Stella.

I hope you will join us in creating some packaging for a gift or two or three for the holidays OR for any occasion for that matter.  Be sure to visit the TS Blog to get details on how you can play along with us.

A NOT-CHRISTMAS Holiday Card

I used this fun image from the Totally Stampalicious Cupcake JJ set to make my Valentine. Our original challenge was to make a holiday card but NOT a Christmas card, but because of the chaos of the season, it was changed to ANYTHING GOES.   My sentiment is computer generated when I was doing the original challenge.  There are actually a few fine and sassy sentiments that go with the set.  I used my Nestie Hearts and a MS border punch and small heart punch. Other than that, you can surely see what I did to create this one. JJ just cracks me up.

Now be sure to go to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to see the work of the fabulous design team. I am so thrilled to be playing with them as a Guest Designer for November and December. We would love for you to play along with us.

Another Stampalicious Challenge

This week's Totally Stampalicious Challenge is to make a card/project with a hot beverage involved.  I used the digital image from Coffee Brawd with the image from Miserable Stella.  The rest is pretty easy to see.  I just love Stella....she just reminds me of so many people I have met and enjoyed!!!  Love the sense of humor connected to these images.  They make me smile and sometimes that is such a precious gift.

Now....head on over to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to see the caffeinated, de-caffeinated, hot cocoa, hot tea, and maybe even hot toddy creations of the rest of the team.  AND......we would LOVE for you to play along....and you COULD win a prize....OR you could get to be a Guest Designer like I am this month!!!

Buttons and Snowflakes

I was able to combine my CCEE card and my Stampin B's card today...which was a FABULOUS thing as I have had a busy week.......and thanks to all of you who made my birthday special through cards, well wishes, surprises, and 'cheers'.  I am still celebrating!!!!
Cindy Haffner is our CCEE hostess and she challenged us to make a card using buttons.  All those black 'dots' are NOT brads, they are tiny buttons.

I was the hostess for the Stampin B's this week, and I challenged the team to think "Snowflakes, Snowflakes, Snowflakes".

My image and sassy sentiment come from a set by Totally Stampalicious (who, by the way, will be holding their new release blog tonight starting at 9 PM Eastern.)  Stella just totally cracks me up.  She is so irreverent and 'honest'.  Hope she brings a smile to you!!!

Now, take the time to visit each of the team blogs to see the fabulous creations full of buttons and snowflakes.  Here are the links to the blogs.  Links to the members individual blogs can be found in my sidebar to the left.
