Crazies Go 'Man' Crazy

Peggy is the hostess for the Crazy4Challenges DT for the month of June.  This week she asked us to make a masculine card.  It can be for any occasion, it just must have a masculine spin to it.  If your Father's Day needs aren't met yet, this would be a great challenge to play along with.

I used a set from Flourishes for my image and sentiment.  The 'bingo card' is actually cut from designer paper.

Be sure to visit the manly creations at the Crazies Blog.

Paper Piecing with the Crazies

Paper piecing is the challenge Cindy issued to the Crazy4Challenges team this week.  I must admit that I had great ambitions with this challenge, but three totally failed.  I then decided I was attempting  ones that were just too detailed for my weak peepers to cut.......so then I went the opposite way......this chair from a Flourishes set, was 'made' for paper piecing.  I used a striped dp that blended well with the floral dp. of my background layer.

I have been trying to once again make some easily mailed cards for a friend's daughter to does a women's ministry in CA.  It is fun to have a purpose to all these cards I make......rather than having stockpiles that I will never be able to use.

Now.....with the talent on this team, I just know that you are going to see some fabulous examples of paper piecing...much more detailed than mine.....at the Crazies Blog.  Go there and check them out!!!!

Flourishes B'day and Fav. Set Challenges

This is the card I made for Flourishes B'day Card Challenge.

This is the card I made for the Very Favorite Set from Flourishes Challenge.  The funny thing is that I first used this set for my Crazy4Challenges card this week AND I just fell in love with it.  Masculine cards are so hard for me......so now that I 'cracked' this set open, I know it is going to be my fav masculine set.

I have been reorganizing a bit in my stamp cave, and have 'discovered' some hidden treasures.  This set was one of them.

Well, today, Sunday, Connecticut will be dealing with Hurricane Irene.  Let's hope we all stay safe and dry!!!

Crazy4Challenges Go Masculine

Frances is our Crazy4Challenges hostess for August, and as many of you know, she lives in Australia.  Well, it will be Father's Day in Australia next Sunday, so she asked us to make masculine cards.  I used this fabulous set by Flourishes which was still a virgin.  I just know I will use it often now that it is open as it will definitely help with future masculine b'day cards.

Be sure to stop in to the Crazies Blog to see the creations made by this very talented and creative team.

On a personal note, today will be our last day of preparations with Hurricane Irene heading our way.  What a week it has been.....first an earthquake and now a hurricane.  Not sure what the East Coast has done to anger Mother Nature....be she sure is being pretty vengeful this week!!!!

Hope everyone in its path stays safe and dry!!!

ALSO......are you a mystery solver.....can you tell me what paper tool this is?????

When I started 'weeding' through my stamp cave, it was in a container of tools I use all the time.....I thought it might be a tool to pick up small metal items....a magnet that would extend in length, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to extend it....and as it is it isn't magnetic.  Here is is from another side angle....

So......are you my mystery solver???????  If so, please tell me what the 'heck' this is!!!!

Thanks!!!!

Ribbons of Summer

This card is for my CCEE Stampers Challenge and my Stampin B's Challenge.  I am the July hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge, and I gave the team a 'seasonal' challenge.  We are an international team, with members from Canada, the United States, and Australia.  Most of us are in the midst of summer right now, but Frances, in Australia, is experiencing her winter season.  So....the team had a choice.....either make a summer or a winter card.  I went with summer.  I used the Adirondack Summer set from Mark's Finest Papers.

Faith is our hostess for this week's Stampin B's Challenge, and she wanted the team to use ribbon.  I used my fav summer barefoot twill for my ribbon element.

I sincerely hope you have time to visit the blogs of these two fabulous teams.  You will be inspired -- that I can guarantee.

CCEE and Stampin B's Challenges

CCEE Challenge  - CCEE1043
Hostess - Shirley Quarry
Challenge - CAS card

All images and sentiments are from Flourishes.  CAS cards are a real challenge for me, but I always feel so good when I feel like I accomplished one.  And....today I must say I am happy with the results.

Now....be sure to go check out the dynamic CAS creations of the rest of the team at the CCEE blog.

I  am also enteriing this into Flourishes weekly challenge which this week asks you to make a card without buttons and bows.

Stampin B's Challenge
Hostess - Brenda
Challenge - Thanksgiving card using pumpkins
Thanksgiving was our goal in the creative process this week and we were to have pumpkins on our cards.  I used my new fav layout again to create this one.  I used a variety of leaf stamps to create the horizontal panel and embossed it with 'coppery' embossing powder.  The pumpkin image is from an individual stamp that I cannot put my hands on right now......but if you want to know, just ask in a comment and I will search for it and get back to ya'.

Be sure to stop by the Stampin B's blog to check out the Thanksgiving creations of the rest of the very talented team.'

MMTPT -- The Tea Partiers Are Going to the Dogs!!!!

I must confess that I made this card for my sister long before Muddamark announced the theme and destination for this week's Tea Party at SCS.  This pooch looks like our Cairn terrier who happens to think he is a prince of all creatures and he'll bark at all other creatures to prove it....lol!!!!  I will be sending this off to my sister and another dog card to the destination station recipient this week.

Be sure to check out the Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS to see how you can play along and for THE WHOLD STORY, told by none other than da Muddamark!!!

On this card the sentiment and images come from a fab Flourishes set.

Thought I would also share my SC Challenge card from last week's challenge on SCS.  For this I use an old retired polar bear set.  Aren't they just the cutest????

Thanks so much for looking.

Fun with Challenges

This first card was done for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS as well as for Flourishes Tuesday Challenge which was to use embossing.....I used both dry embossing and heat embossing.

This next, rather silly one, was made for da Muddamark's Tea Party challenge and also for the Mojo Monday sketch.

This third card was done for the Totally Stampalicious challenge for this week.....howevah...in all honesty as soon as I figure out 'what' I will be adding something to the upper right 'white' area......just not sure....still pondering!!!

Thanks for stopping by.  We are sunny this morn, but expecting rain later on.  However, I know it will be a good day as my Old Farts group is having lunch today, so I know I will be laughing and enjoying the visit.
