The CCEE at the Beach

Joanne here with your third CCEE Stampers Challenge for July.....

July, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere,
is one of our warmest months.
When I think of hot days, I think of the beach.
Let’s create cards that honor beaches in some way.

Once again (sorry) I forgot to write down the companies for the stamps I used, so just ask if you need to know.  I stamped the beach, then created the water and sky with sponging.  I heat embossed the sentiment,  Piercing was added and that is about it......

If you join in, please add a link to your card in a comment on the CCEE Blog..
 If posting on splitcoaststampers,
 please add CCEE1629 to keywords.

Crazy for Encouragement

As the hostess for July's Crazy4Challenges, here is this week's challenge....

July 11 is Cheer Up the Lonely Day.  Let’s create cards of encouragement.

My card is a true one layer CAS card.  I used stamps from Just Rite.  I colored the frame lightly with Copics.

Be sure to stop in at the Crazies Blog to see the cards of encouragement created by the rest of the DT and our guest designer.

CCEE Chicks Get Creative

Frances continues as the CCEE Stampers Challenge hostess for March.  Here is her challenge for us this week.

Saturday is Poultry Day. So let's be inspired by Poultry when creating our cards this week… Chickens; Ducks; Turkeys; Geese; Emus; Ostriches etc or Eggs. As Easter is just over a week away, you could create an Easter card but this is optional. Bonus points if you  include Green on your card to celebrate St Patricks Day which is today.

I used a stamp and die set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps for my image.  The frame was made with a die from MFT.  The sentiment is also from an MFT set.  I added a touch of designer paper and some brads.  Piercing finished the card off.

Be sure to visit the CCEE Blog to see the other poultry themed cards by this wonderful DT.

The 'EYES' Go Crazy......

Hi Crazy Fans!

It's a brand new month which means it is time to introduce our new Crazy4Challenges  hostess for the month, which this time around is Barb Anders.

Before we get onto this week's challenge, we have some updates for you.  First up, Lynn Putt, sadly, has left us as she is very busy and doesn't have the time to play along with us right now.

Vicki Burdick, who was our Guest Designer in April, has now joined us on the Design Team. We are excited to welcome her to the team.

Finally we need to introduce this month's Guest Designer .... Broni Holcomb from Splash of Watercolor blog. We look forward to having Broni play along with us each week.

OK,  now onto this week's challenge!

There are ALL kinds of "holidays" these days.  Have you noticed that? One of the "monthly" observances for May (in the US, at least) is Healthy Vision Month. I know we're all aware of how precious vision is.   So let's celebrate it this week. Your project should have something related to vision or eyes on it. Use your imagination--the "eyes" have it this week!

On this card I used die cuts from two small die sets by Impression Obsession.  The sentiment comes from a Pure Innocence set by My Favorite Things.

Be sure to stop by the Crazies Blog to see the fab creations by the DT.

CCEEers Follow a Recipe

Shirley gave the CCEEers a recipe to follow this week.  We were to use 2 circles, 1 oval, and 2 octogons or decagons.  Well, I took some artistic liberties on this one......I used hexagons!!  I figured one '-gon' was as good as another!!!!  My two circles are the layered doilies, my oval is the pink layer behind the sentiment panel, and my hexagons are stenciled onto the white base.

The flowers and leaves are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, while the sentiment is from Flourishes.

It will be fascinating to see the various creations using this same recipe.  I am sure they will be fabulous and each unique.  You can check them out on the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Going Red, White, and Blue with the Crazies

Frances is our hostess with the mostest for July.  This first week she gave the Crazy4Challenges DT  the color combo of red, white and blue.  You did not have to make a patriotic card...just use the color combo.  I have been gathering a stash of cards for a dear friend, so I went non-patriotic.

I apologize for my somewhat fuzzy picture.  It was just one of those days when the camera would not cooperate.  The sketch I used is one I saw a few years ago.....unfortunately I did not write down the name of the stamper.  If you recognize the sketch, thanks for the inspiration.

Be sure to visit the Crazies Blog to see our red, white and blue gallery of creations.

Blue Skies Ahead for the CCEE Stampers

As the March hostess for the CCEE Stampers, my challenge comes from the season.  Spring has sprung here in the U.S.  Frances, in Australia is facing Autumn.  One thing these two seasons share are bright blue skies and lots of color in nature.  So I asked the team to make a card/project with a spring or autumn scene including blue skies.

I used two dies from Memory Box for the bike and the tree.  I then fancy cut the PI sweetie and used a sentiment from the same PI set from MFT.  My sky was created using a mylar cloud template.

Be sure to stop in the gaze at the beautiful blue skies at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Happy Birthday, Vicky!!!!

Happy 70th  Birthday, Vicky Gould!!!!

Vicky is our hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenges this month.  Today happens to be her 70th birthday.  Vicky happens to LOVE chocolate.   For this last February challenge, she has challenged us to use chocolate in some way.....in image, sentiment, color, cocoa, chocolate chips, etc......on our cards.

I went with a chocolate sentiment and both cocoa and chocolate colored cardstock.  The only stamping was my sentiment which is an unmounted, unidentified stamp.

I sincerely hope that this is Vicky's best birthday ever!!  Though we have never met face to face, I consider her a very dear friend.  We have been longtime friends on Splitcoast, and her friendship has blessed me in many way throughout the years.  Enjoy your day, my friend!!!

Try to take time to go to the CCEE Stampers' Blog to see all the wonderful chocolate creations, and make a special effort to visit Vicky's blog to wish her the happiest of birthdays.

The Crazies Play with a Color Combo

Kristine, our hostess for the February Crazy4Challenges, has started the month with a color challenge.  Her challenge for everyone today is to make something with the colors of
Purple, Blue, and Green
and just for an added twist she wants to see stripes on our cards!

This month we welcome Danielle Lounds as our guest designer for February, you can visit her at Fat Cat Stampers.

I used an old floral stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and a sentiment stamp from MFT, a border punch from Martha Stewart, and some brads.  Easy-peasy.

Be sure to visit the Crazy4Challenges Blog to see the other cards created with the lovely color combo.

Going Crazy....A Day Late

I have been a bit under the weather and seem to be always trying to catch up.  This card was actually made on time, but I forgot to schedule my post.  My apologies to my fellow Crazies. Our challenge this week was to make 'thinking of you' cards.  I used this fab sentiment from My Faboirite Thngs.

To see the other fab creations by this wonderful team, be sure to go to the Crazies Blog.

Going to Pieces with the Crazies

Jessie is the hostess with the mostest for the Crazy4Challenges this month.  This week she challenged us to use paper piecing.  Well, I have not had much time for stamping lately, so when I do get down to the stampcave, I try to use some of those 'unused' 'toys' I just had to have.  Well this pincushion stamp and the sentiment were some I just had to have from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I paper pieced the pincushion with two of the designer papers I used in the border quilt, the dotted and striped ones.

Be sure to check out the piecing skills of the rest of this fabulous team at the Crazies Blog.

30+ Inches......Phew!!!!

I have not had much time for stamping.  NEMO, the historic blizzard, hit Connecticut with hurricane force winds, thundersnow, and snow falling sometimes at a rate of 5-6 inches an hour.  During and after the storm, my shovel was permanently attached to my hand/arm.  If I wasn't helping with the driveway, I was shoveling snow off the bushes or shoveling out a 'toilet area' for our dogs.  We went out 3 times Friday night and several times on Saturday before we got it all done.  We had a total of 30 - 36 or so inches.......hard to tell as the wind was blowing it all around.  In the dogs' toilet area, I shoveled at least 50 inches (or more) as drifting snow would fill it in quickly.  Incredible!!!!  One very positive thing for us was that even though our lights blinked, we never lost power.  Sadly, this morning it was 0 degrees, and there were thousands who still did not have power.  Let's hope that ends for them very soon......I can't even imagine no heat in this weather!!!

I do not have pictures to share as I was too busy shoveling.  When I did think about pictures, the sun was already setting.

However.....today I am sharing some cards I made in recent weeks for challenges at SCS.  I am not going to give details.......just sharing the cards....if you have questions, just ask in your comment.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

First thing....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating the holiday!!!  May you have a wonderful time with family/friends AND have many reasons to be thankful.

Our challenge from Vicky this week was to use the colors of the season (brown, yellow, and orange).  I had all my Thanksgiving cards done, so I made a friendship card, which in my opinion fits right in with the holiday, as among my greatest blessings are my friends both far and near.

Now be sure to visit the CCEE Stampers Blog to see the wonderful creations this talented DT made using this warm and rich color combo.  If you have some time during this busy season, we would love for you to play right along with us.  Details on how to do so are at the blog.

CCEE'ers Go Back to School

Anne has been our CCEE Stampers hostess for the month of August, and this week she gave us a theme to work with ........Back to School.  Well, as a retired middle school teacher, I have lots of friends who are returning to their classrooms this week.  This card is dedicated to them, and will probably go to one for a b'day card at some point.

Now, for me, yesterday was our annual First Day of School Retiree Breakfast.  We always have a fab time catching up on everyone's happenings/travels/stories.  Yesterday was also  the first day of my SEVENTH year of retirement.  Time has just flown by......feels like yesterday that I wheeled my bag out of school for the last official time.

For those of you with children still in school, I wish each and everyone the most successful and fun school year possible.  Know that the teachers are as anxious as the kids when a new year begins.  There is always the hope and expectation that the year will go smoothly, that parents will be supportive, children will be excited to learn, that the administration will be flexible and have their back, and that the community will support the school and its endeavors.  On the first day of school everyone is an optimist........and for all of the teachers, students, parents, administrators, and community members reading this, I wish for you a year with optimism in daily doses that last until June.  Enjoy!!!!

Anyhoooooooo......be sure to go to the CCEE Stampers' Blog to check out the fabulous back to school creations of the rest of this tremendously talented and friendly team.

CCEE Goes to 'Pieces"

Anne is the CCEE Stamper's Challenge hostess this month.  This week she challenged us to use paper piecing on our card/project.  I used a set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for my card.  The 'darker' paper is actually a dp with small checks, but it appears to be a solid color in the picture.

The team is sure to dazzle you with their inspiring and fantastic work, so be sure to stop in for a visit at the CCEE Stamper's Blog.

CCEE1221 -- Color Challenge

Charlene is the CCEE Stampers hostess for May.  This week she gave us a color combo for our cards.  I did not have three of the four asked for colors, so I had to improvise.  The actual color combo was cherry cobbler, wild wasabi,  daffodil delight, and pacific point.

I used a fab set from SU for my image, added some piercing, a border punched element, gingham yellow bow, and rounded my corners.  Pretty easy peasy, IMO.

Now you need to dance on over to the CCEE Blog to see the creations the rest of the DT made with this color combo.

Totally Stampalicious Monday Gets 'Friendly'

Welcome to Totally Stampalicious Monday.  I went CAS with our challenge this week.  We were asked to make a card  involving friendship.  Well, I just love this image from the newly released MARGARET UMBRELLA set.  There are a mix of sassy and sweet sentiments with this set.  I used the one that expressed friendship.  CAS is a difficult style for me, so every so often I like to give it a try.

Now be sure to go to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to see the fabulous FRIENDSHIP creations of the rest of the DT.  Thanks for stopping by.
