Charlene is our August hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge. She has been sharing a fun fact with us each week and here is the one for today.....
"You burn 26 calories in a one-minute kiss."
So the keyword for this week is KISS. Well, I (like most of you) have thousands of stamps......and I really struggled with this one. Finally I found this ancient SU get well set. The image has the word 'kisses' on it plus the horizontal panel has 'kisses and hugs' symbols. Phew......was so happy to find that set!!!
Be sure to stop by the CCEE Stampers Blog to see our 'kiss' gallery.
Vicki D. is our hostess for the Stampin B's this week. She challenged us to use distressing on our creations. My struggle with distressing is that I often make smudges or rips that I just can't live with.......and that happened this time too, but I was able to cover the worst ones up.....and, in the end, I was somewhat pleased with the final result. What do you think???? It is certainly out of my comfort zone.
I used a newly released set by Mark's Finest Papers called Black Eyed Susans for Encouragement.
Now....don't get yourself all distressed....we've done that for you......so come check out our distressed creations at the Stampin B's Blog.
This second card will also be entered into Speedy's Friends Challenge as it was distressing this week.

fabulous cards Joanne :)
Now, that is what I call a challenge. I can't think of any stamp I have that would be appropriate for a 'kiss'. Well, I do have a lips stamp. Twenty-six calories, huh?
Good job with your distressed card, Joanne. That is a bit hard for me, too. Tearing, ripping, sanding is hard to do to a clean, pretty card. :-)
Super job on both your cards.
You might burn that many calories in a one minute kiss but think how many you put on in a package of the kind in a silver package with the little thingy hangin' out at the top! I can put one of those packages away in a one minute time frame! Snort!
What a great kiss card! Ha! What a fun challenge! I would play but I ate all my kisses!!
Thank you for my new polka dots, SnoSnotGlitterGlobDot! Tee hee! Kenny LOVED them too!
Now about the card......its so precious! Great job finding just the perfect kiss image! Typical wonderful, happy card from you!
Both of your cards are amazing,
Joanne!!! You did a great job with the "Kiss" card....I don't thing I have a single kiss image but could probably draw a chocolate kiss...LOL!!! The distressing on your secold card is beautiful....love the colors, pretty flowers, and the gorgeous bow!!!
LOVE your distressing -- just fabulous with the fall colors~
Joanne--this is such a fabulous distressed card!!! And I love your "cutie patooties! Give them a big hug for me!!! Thanks for playing along with us this week at Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge!
I remember that old SU set! It is so sweet. See, this is why we should never part with old stamps - you might need them one day! LOL And your Black Eyed Susan card is so lovely, with terrific coloring. I like that set a whole lot. Thanks for playing with Speedy's Friends this week, Joanne!
FABULOUS!!~
FABULOUS!!~
ooooo love that flower image and how the BG looks like fabric. you did WELL with your distressing, maybe we will hook you on it yet. Thanks for entering this in the Speedy the Cat Challenge.
all those calories? Wow! Love your distressed card......fab colors and layout to go with the coloring!!
Joanne I know what you mean about the distressing. I got myself one of those Tim Holtz distressing tools and now I can get the look without the rips...lol It even rolls the paper-it is so cool. I got mine at Hobby Lobby but Joann's on line has it. Both your cards are just fabulous. The embossing on the first is strikingly beautiful. Your Brown Eye Susan is Spectacular. Thanks so much for playing in Speedy's challenge. It is always a pleasure to come to see your work.
Bear Hugs,
Carol
Both cards are so pretty. I love that you used the "Get Well" set, I have it, but would never have thought of using it on the challenge. Great thinking. I also like the Stampin' B's card, I love Black eyed Susans.
