Happy Easter!!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful day today!
Happy Easter
to those celebrating today.

Above is a repeat photo of eggs I decorated
when my peepers were stronger.
Ukrainian egg decorating, 'pysanky',
requires good eyes and a steady hand.

Coloring eggs has been a tradition that has been revisited throughtout
my life.  As a youngster, we made pastel colored dyed eggs.
On a trip to Poland years ago, I learned the Polish version of pysanki,
done with a straight pin stuck into an eraser
which you dip into beeswax.
The designs are beautiful, but much more primitive than the
Ukrainian style eggs above.  A few years after my Poland trip
our local high school sponsored a class in the Ukrainian style
of egg, and that is the style I did for years.  The larger
eggs you see in the picture is a goose egg.

Anyhoooooo.......I really love all sorts of decorated eggs, natural or not.

If you have some time, tell me about some tradition you
have related to Easter time or Passover.

Our traditional Easter includes a borscht which includes
kielbasa, boiled eggs, horseradish, and a broth.
Today we will also have some homemade cheese babka (bread).

Have a fabulous day with family and friends
......or however you may spend the day.
Try to do something that brings you joy!!!!

Hugs to all,
Joanne/jojot

These eggs are gorgeous! Such amazing details! Hope you had a very Blessed Easter! We had a wonderful time celebrating with our family. This year we attended the Easter Vigil mass at our church. It was a great way to celebrate the resurrection.

My friend, those eggs are magnificent!!! I had never heard of this type of egg decorating before. I can only imagine how much time it must've taken you to make these.

Joanne, I have never seen these beautiful eggs. You are so talented to do these. Wow! I am really impressed. I imagine, as you said, it takes a sharp eye and very steady hands.

My Easter usually consists of church services. Long ago, I would go to an Easter sunrise service. We always are with family and have a lovely meal. I sometimes prepare for a few months for the Easter cantata at our church...not this year as I knew I would be away.
We went to church with our son and family this year. The two year old didn't want any part of hiding eggs so that was that. LOL
