Silke is our Crazy4Challenges hostess for the month of March, and she has challenged us this week to a sketch challenge.
I used one of my fav ocean view stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations and a Prima flower. Otherwise, this was a pretty simple creation.
Please be sure to visit the Crazy4Challenges Blog to see the fab creations by this extremely creative team. It'll be amazing to see how different the cards can be even using the same sketch.
This next card is for the Speedy's Friends Challenge. Colleen is our hostess this week, and she challenged us to use the BLEACH technique. I have not done this one for years, so it was fun to 'play'. I used an image/sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed with black detail embossing powder. I then applied the bleach to the inner areas of the flower/stem and used a heat tool to quicken the drying time. Since this was a technique card, I left it pretty simple, only adding some piercing and some Martha Stewart borders. Really did create a fairly CAS and yet dramatic card.
Now......you really must check out the 'bleached' creations of the rest of the Friends.

Both are beautiful, Joanne! You really rocked the Speedy challenge...gotta get that MS border punch!
Joanne, your sunflower looks great all bleached out! And I had fun playing with the bleach, too. It was actually my first time. Silly me, picking a challenge that I'd never even done before! Well, it helped me stretch, so it was all good. Great job on your CAS floral card. :)
My favorite scene image and BEAUTIFUL job on the bleach! I'm still scared of that stuff lol
GORGEOUS scene you have there, Joanne! And equally gorgeous colors!
I love both cards Joanne! What a great job with the bleach - I love the color the bleach created - perfect for the sunflower!
