A Challenging Day -- Team Challenges and My Poor Angel

The CCEE Challenge this week was to NOT USE buttons, bows, brads or buckles.  You could go wild with anything else.  I used an old unmounted sentiment stamp I have had as my focal point and built the rest using Nesties, embossing folder, a Prima rose, some pearls (adhesive, not brads), a touch of lace and some piercing.  The hardest thing about this one was getting a decent picture.  If I brightened it, the coral color darkened tremendously.  So this was as good as I could do.

Be sure to check out the rest of the CCEE Stampers creations.  A few were 'whining' a bit about this challenge but I know their creations will be spectacular.

Vicky G. was our hostess this week for the Stampin B's Challenge.  She wanted us to avoid designer paper and use stamps for our background.  Well, I kind of went the lazy way for this one.  I, luckily, had invested in many of Cornish Heritage Farms backgrounders before they went out of business.  I used the one called Mulberry Paper on the green layer.  For my main image I used this fabulous flower stamp from Stamp Camp.  It is so easy to color and is so dramatic!!!  In real life the yellows are more similar than they appear in this photo.

Now...be sure to check out the fab work of the Stampin B's Challenge Team cuz I am sure they will dazzle you!!!!

Some Personal News......

Our very sweet, young pup had emergency surgery yesterday.  When we 'adopted' her, we knew that she was coming with an umbilical hernia which would be taken care of when she was 'fixed'.  However, on Monday she would yelp when we picked her up and she was shaking a lot.  Thankfully our vet stayed a bit overtime to check her out and the decision was made to do her surgery yesterday.  Poor little thing is only 7.7 pounds and only a tad bit over 4 months old........this has been traumatic for her.....and now she has to deal with those 'cone head thingies' for 7 to 10 days.  This is going to be such a long recuperation for such a fiesty and energetic puppy!!!!

I love the background you created, and both cards are great! Your sweet angel is so young to have to endure surgery, but hopefully this will end her pain! (hugs) to you both :)

Awww . . . your poor little cone-headed pup! I hope the days of recovery zoom by for her! These cards are wonderful, Joanne! I've never seen that mulberry paper background stamp you used on your StampinB card--it looks fabulous. What a great image for that card, too. Very cheery!!

Joanne-both cards are really great. I love the beautiful flower on the first and the bg stamp on the other is fabulous.
So sorry about Angel...hope she is doing well today and I wish her a speedy recovery. It may be harder on you than Angel.

I always hated it if any of our dogs had to wear one of those cones. I know it's best for them, but it just looks so uncomfortable for the dog to have to wear. Your poor sweet baby. I hope she is doing better today.

I could elaborate on every perfect detail on both of your cards, but suffice it to say "Both of your cards are beautiful!"

Joanne your cards are gorgeous, I love the flower card that you made your own DP with a CHF background stamp, wow!

Thanks for leaving me comments today, I'm so happy your fur baby is finished with her emergency surgery and on the mend. They really are another family member. Our whole family except maybe the cats are all sad that Maxine is in the animal hospital. Bless you
