Thought for My Birthday
Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. ~Samuel Ullman
I did not get any cards done yesterday as I was busy. Swimming, lunch with a dear friend, haircut, and life!!! AND...the coming days will also be filled with celebrations with friends. So today I thought I would share a photo I took some years ago in Aruba, a place I have been blessed to visit often. This photo sits on my computer table. In my mind, this is a place of escape for me. Nothing is better than to sit on an uncrowded beach, listening to the rise and fall of the waters, breeze blowing through the dried palm leaves in the canopy of the table, the warmth of the sun on your face, clouds being pushed quickly through the deep blue skies by the trade winds, and nothing difficult to decide other than where we will have dinner that night. Not a care in the world and a sense of serenity in the soul. This is just one of the reasons why the ocean plays a large part in my life. It brings me such joy!!!
I am also so blessed to have wonderful friends who have already made my b'day special through well wishes and wonderful surprises (and some dang beautiful cards too). Some friends are near and dear and others I have never met, but they all equally warm my heart (and, yes......we shall meet some day!!!). Thanks to each and every one of you who make my world a more enthusiastic and blessed place.
Wishing you all a place of tranquility (even if it is just in your mind) and the ability to find joy in every day!!!!
