Catch Up Tuesday......

Last Week's Sketch Challenge Card

I used one of my fav stamps from Innovative Stamp Creations for the main beach panel.  The sentiment is by Lizzie Anne Designs.

Muddamark Tea Party Challenge

Can you believe it??!!  I made a ONE layer card.......!!!  I am amazed myself.

We were asked to keep our cards simple with no embellishments, ribbons, layers, etc.  What appears to be brads on my card are flat stickers.  This  PI image is by MFT.  I pierced and dry embossed.  Simple, simple!!!

On a personal note, I have had a fab time the past few days.  Had dinner with a friend's family on Sunday, celebrating my godchild's wife's birthday.  So nice to catch up with them all.  Then had dinner out last night with a friend AND a stamper friend who I do not see very often.  Good food and good stamping talk.  Then today, the Old Farts (plus some extended members) had a wonderful lunch at a fine eatery out in the countryside.  Laughter, chatter, friendly teasing, and love were the highlights of the day!!!

One of our guests was the daughter of one of the Old Farts who was visitiing from California.  She happens to have been a forner student of mine (and many of the others there), and is now a dear friend herself.  She is a chef at a prison and has developed a culinary program for select convicts.  It is absolutely amazing to hear of her success in getting some of her students so motivated that on release, they go to school, get good jobs, and stay out of the prison system.  You go, girl!!!  Truly a person making a difference in this world!!

Now....I think I actually have to cook for myself tomorrow....lol!!!!

Wowee! What fun you have had! I love it! But I imagine people gravitate to you. Hey, if I were there I would cook for you but then we would have to go out cuz it would be yuck! Snort!

What a heart warming story about your friends daughter and what she is doing! A special person...you know how great people always thank their teachers.....Hmmm......that's you isn't it?

I love that you made a one layer card....you rocked the challenge! Good job! The other card is awesome too, love the pierced images!

Well that's amazing, what a great program for that girl to start! Yay! And yay for you making a one layer card, did it stretch you? I like the piercing on the top one.

I love both your cards. The colors and piercing in the first one are totally "wow". My favorite is the one layer card, it is fabulous.

If I had been there, Cindy could have made the main meal and I could have made my famous lemon flop cake. Oh, yeah, we would have went out for desert, too. Sounds like Cindy and I don't need to be in the kitchen together. :)

That is always encouraging to hear of other people making a difference in people's lives...and that you were her teacher must be really heart-warming, Joanne!!
