CCEE Challenge AND Stampin B's Challenge

Stampin B's Challenge #49
Spring/Easter Card
Hostess - Faith
Easter was always a big holiday in our family.  We gathered at my aunts' house and we had a traditional Polish breakfast of borscht, kielbasa, eggs, rye bread, babka....followed by all sorts of baked goods and treats.  It was the one time of the year that each kid received gifts/candy from all the aunts and uncles.  Well, in many of the baskets of treats were often candy chicks of many colors.  That was what I was thinking of when I created this card.  The image and sentiment are from Mark's Finest Papers.

Please be sure to visit the Stampin B's blog to see the creations of the rest of the team AND to meet our newest B's team members.

I have also entered this into the Cute Card Thursday challenge for Celebrations, Suzy's Sassy Challenge for Easter Cards, Paper Play Challenge for repeating an image
CCEE Challenge 1010
Inspiration Challenge
Hostess - Tosh
Well, this card truly evolved in the creative process, all based on this inspiration photo selected by Tosh.  I kind of went with the colors and textures.  I also went with the three containers, only making them oval on my card.  I sort of 'plated them up' with the background panels and border.  However, I must honestly say that this was not the card I set out to make.......there is actually nothing that was originally planned on this card....but I guess that is how an inspiration challenge works, at least for me.

The images are by SU, the border punch is by MS, the dp and colored cardstock are by PTI.  I used my Petite Oval Nesties to cut/emboss the images.  I used my CB to emboss the background panel.

Now you must go to the CCEE blog to check out the inspirational creations of the rest of the team.

Wow! Your CCEE card is really beautiful, JoJo! The colors, textures, Nesties, border punches....everything was brought together in perfection by you!

And that cute chickie Easter card is absolutely delightful in these pretty colors! And made all the more special by your wonderful childhood memories. I kinda chuckled when I first looked at these cute chicks because they reminded me of that song Walk Like an Egyptian. Giggle.

I've never seen a pink or blue chick running around the yard but if I did I know I could send it to you . . .although I have seen a blue chicken's egg and a green one too and they were fresh! I learned chickens can lay eggs of different colors . . .anyway! Enough rambling! Love the Springy card, makes me happy to see those colors.

Both of these are wonderful! I'm glad I read about the caviar card. I saw the challenge and didn't quite understand some of the examples that I saw. Yours makes perfect sense when I read it....it's perfectly wonderful. Guess I'd better read the other blogs too - ha ha. And - those little chicks at the top - too cute!!!!

When I was a youngster, we used to have colored live peeps for sale in the 5&10 cent store at Easter! I always loved going there to see all the little chicks in vivid colors, and your first card took me back to those childhood days I'd long forgotten! Thx for the trip down memory lane :)
The 2nd card just blew me away with all the fabby details! Great take on the inspiration photo!
