Your Art Inspires

Yesterday's Featured Stamper on SCS was Anne (jdmommy). Anyone who 'knows' her will recognize that she is one sweet lady AND that she happens to share a love of the color RED with me!!! So, of course, I had to play in her challenge. I created this one based on one of Anne's cards, but also keeping in mind the RED theme. Anne recently made a card using pears, so I think that is why I gravitated toward this set by Innovative Stamp Creations, but of course I had to make the pear RED......not natural, but truly a beauty in RED. The frame and sentiment also come from the same set.

I was late in making this card yesterday 'cuz I had a busy day. Part of it was spent celebrating the 3rd birthday of my godchild's youngest son. I had a fabulous time, but I truly now understand why parenthood is generally for the young........3 and 6 (or nearly6) year olds have MORE energy that the Energizer Bunny. When I got home, I made this card and spent the rest of the evening recovering....lol!!! I love them dearly, but wow I just can't keep up with them!!!

I had two wonderful surprised this week. A former student, now friend, of mine surprised me with a card. We had somehow lost touch several years ago. Anyhooo..this card explained that he and his young family have spent the last three years in Indonesia. I am sure he will have lots of stories to tell when he returns stateside in a bit. We are planning to get together and catch up. The other surprise came totally out of the blue. Another former student, who I have not seen or talked to for probably 30 years, (yes I know...I am OLD!!!) called me and had such lovely things to share. It is moments like this that just warm the heart of a retired teacher.

If you had a teacher who made a difference in YOUR life....no matter how long ago it might have been, let them know. YOU will make THEIR day!!!! Teachers need warm fuzzies too!!!
