Stampin B's #39 Old/New

This week's Stampin B's challenge, hosted by Lois (Clownmom), was to use our oldest stamp set/stamp along with our newest tool/embellie/'toy'.

I must be honest in saying that I really don't know which stamp is my oldest.....so I just grabbed one of my older sets. This vine set was one I coveted for a while before buying. Then when I got it I was very discouraged in using it 'cuz even with my Thingamajig, I could never line up the second stamp in the 2 step process. So it sat and sat until I decided one day to just 'eye' it, knowing it would be 'offset'. Well......I came to like the effect of the offset AND that made it easier to use and enjoy. So....that is the story on that!!!! If you are a purist, then just ignore the offset quality....lol!!!!

The second part of our challenge was to use a new tool or 'toy'. Well, in the picture you probably can't see the work of my clear stardust gel pen. Ya' see.....I have problems with my eyes and I don't use glitter. So, a dear friend gave me a set of these stardust gel pens AND I LOVE them.....they allow me to glitz things up without getting glitter in my eyes. So...in real life this stardust brings a bit of glamour to these purple vines.

So...that is the story on this one....can't wait to see what the other team members did!!!!

Be sure to visit the Stampin B's blog to see the work of the other team members. They will surely dazzle you as they dazzle me every week.

Hi Joanne - love the purple leaves, and they don't look at all offset to me, they just look beautiful! Love the embossed edging too.
Have a Happy New Year.

This is just lovely! Purple is my favorite color, so I'm with you on this one!! The offset look is more realistic to me anyway, so this one floats my boat! Great job!!

Can Bertie come, too, or does she have to stay at home cuz you're askeered she might fling sumpin' at ya? Hee. Seriously, I love ya and wish you all the best for health, happiness, and prosperity in the days ahead.

Joanne, this is dazzlin', and what a great idea with the pens, I love mine and use it a lot! I wouldn't a thought to do this in purples, but I know at least a few who love purple!! I am wishing you a wonderful New Year and maybe we can all meet up again this year, Steamboat or somewhere else, this time with Charlene!
Blessings to you in the New Year!!
