The Crazies 'Leave' It.......

Andrea gave the Crazy4Challenges a seasonal challenge this week.  She asked us to use leaves on our card/project.  Well......I really have plenty of Autumn/Thanksgiving cards made, so I went with a black and white card, using an unmounted stamp of leaves as a background panel.  The main image and sentiment are by Technique Tuesday.  I did add a bit of piercing to this CAS card.

The Crazies Blog is the place to stop in to see the 'LEAVES'.  You will be inspired, I am sure!!!!

Focus on the Backgrounds

Sabrina, our September hostess for the CCEE Stampers Challenge, asked us to create our own backgrounds this week....using a technique of our own choosing.  Now.....I have to admit that I am cheating a bit this week.  I actually made this card at a demonstration at a LSS but I thought I'd share the creative process.  This stamp is by Impression Obsession, the sponsor of the Make and Take.

We first stamped the 'tree' image in black Stazon onto a transparency and then let it dry.  We then stamped a cloud background stamp in blue chalk ink onto the square base card.  Now here is the cool thing.........we then put a few 'whisps' of white acrylic paint on the back (wrong side) of the transparency.  I must say that this really adds depth and dimension in real life.  We then put clear tape adhesive on the back in spots where the tree was black or where we had put the white paint.  This kept the tape from being seen from the front. The sentiment and ribbon were added at the end.

I love background techniques, so I am excited to see what the rest of this creative DT created.  Follow me to the CCEE Stampers Blog to check out their work.

Totally Stampalicious Goes for FALL....colors that is!!!

Welcome to the Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge.  This week we were asked to make cards using the colors of Fall.  This set, called Stella Waitress, came to mind and I could see her working in a diner and wearing an orange and yellow uniform.......perfect for Fall, along with a touch of green and red.  Here in New England, along with brown, those are the colors of Fall.  All of those colors are on this card.

Now be sure to visit the TS Blog to check out the fall-colored creations by the rest of this fabulous team.

The Crazies Give Thanks

Andrea challenged the Crazy4Challenges gals to create thank you cards OR Thanksgiving cards.  I did one that could go either way.  I was totally influenced by a beautiful card I saw on Pinterest a while back.  However, I must apologize for the shocking backdrop on this picture.  In real life the orange wasn't quite so blinding.  The card, in real life, is rich and WHITE.  I have a real problem with white cards......have a hard time photographing their clean crispness.  Oh well....thus goes life!!!!

The leaf used here is by Hero Arts and the sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers.

I look forward to seeing the creations by the rest of the team.  If you don't want to miss out on the dazzling inspiration, be sure to stop in at the Crazies Blog.

Going 'Foodie' with the CCEE'ers

Sabrina, our hostess for September, challenge the CCEE Stampers to use an image or paper with food or drinks.  Bonus points will be given if you include a recipe.  Sorry to say that I don't earn the bonus points this week.  I kept mine pretty CAS.

Happy B'day, Girlz....from Totally Stamaplicious

The title says it all!!!  The Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge this week was to make a b'day card for a girl.  I went with one of the newly released sets, called Balloon Kidz Girl.  The sentiment is from an older TS set.

Hope you will stop in to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to check out the b'day greetings created by the rest of this fabulous and friendly DT.

CCEE'ers Try Special Folds

Okay.....I must admit that when I saw Sabrina's CCEE Stamper's challenge for this week, I may have groaned a time or two.  I tend to avoid unusually constructed and folded cards as I find I do not ever send them out.  However, after making this one, I must admit it was pretty easy and it really is mailable.  AND...most importantly, a recipient will be able to figure out how to open it without my help.

By the way...the challenge was to do this technique (free standing pop up card) OR a waterfall card.

I used this stamp by Penny Black which I always turn to as I make holiday cards.  The rest of the designs are designer paper or cardstock.  If you would like to try one of these, there is a tutorial on Splitcoast called 'free standing pop up card'.

This is the card folded up.  Ignore the thumb at the left.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the team created using this 'fold/style'....I am sure to be inspired to try this technique again....REALLY!!!!  The CCEE Stamper's Blog is the place to go!!!

Always Love a Sketch

Andrea is the Crazy4Challenges hostess this month.  This week she has challenged us to create a card using this sketch.

You will notice that I have turned the sketch, but otherwise stayed true to the sketch.  The sentiment is the only stamping done on this card.  I just love the sweetness of its words.  The 'frame' is a Memory Box die.

Now be sure to check out the creations made by the Crazies using this sketch.  I am sure you will be dazzled if you visit the Crazies' Blog.

CCEE'ers Are Musically Inspired

Sabrina is our hostess for the month of September.  She challenged the CCEE Stampers to create a card using bird/birds and music. It does not have to be sheet music or such, but can just be based on a song.  I chose the song 'Silent Night' as my inspiration.  I used this background stamp by Impression Obsession to create this CAS card.  I colored the cardinal red, added a ribbon/bow, and a bling flourish.  Really quite a simple project.

Now be sure to travel through blogland to the CCEE Stamper's Blog to see the other musically inspired cards created by this wonderful and talented team.

Attending the Tea Party on SCS

No stamps were harmed in the creation of this card.  It is a QAS (Quick and Simple) card using dies and designer paper.  It is for today's Tea Party Challenge on SCS.  This card will be going to the designated recipient who needs some cheering up and encouragement.

I am so sorry that I just haven't played in the Tea Party Challenges as often as I would like.  Real life and stamping comitments get in the way.  However...was glad to have made this one and it will go postal later today.

Thanks so much for stopping in.  I know that I have been missing in Blogland lately.  I wish there were more hours in the day for commenting.  Anyhooooooo....I really do love to stop in whenever possible.

Anything But a Card for TS Monday

\

The Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge this week is to make anything but a card.  I went with a tag using this adorable Brat elf.  However, I do not really USE tags, so after taking the picture, I then used my tag to make a holiday card.

Now...be sure to visit the Totally Stampalicious Blog to see the other fabulous non-card creations by the team.

Crazies Do Colors

The Crazy4Challenges team was given a vibrant color challenge this week.  We were asked to use orange, green and purple.  At first I just wasn't sure what to do, but then I remembered a wonderful brown/orange sky I had seen done at a LSS I had visited.  I also remembered a very dramatic sky that Julie (justwritedesigns) had created using only greens.  From that inspiration, I grabbed my sponge and ink pads and had some fun.  I must say that I just love the sky I created.  I used a mylar template to help me with the sponging.  The scene is a stamp from Penny Black.  I 'think' the sentiment is also a PB stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to visit the wild and colorful gallery at the Crazies Blog.  I am sure you will be inspired.
